Looks like pup may become a sheepdog after all. We went to view the house again to get some measurements and the current owner has offered to leave us 2 roosters, 10 chickens and 2 sheep!
I'm hoping we might start hearing back from the searches soon. I've emailed the solicitor to ask for an update so will hopefully hear something on Monday.
We've made some progress on the decluttering. DH took a car full to the tip yesterday and DC2 dropped 2 bags at the clothes bank today. I've managed to sell a few bits and have made £195 so far. I've got a mountain of random stuff piled on the sofa though that I still need to list. Must get that done asap so we can all sit down again!4 -

Still plodding on. Heard from our buyer today that all their searches have come back now. She completed on her sale yesterday and has had to move in with her daughter, so hopefully she'll be pushing solicitors from her end to move things along. Hopefully we'll hear back on the searches for our purchase this week.
Really looking forward to moving now. We've got some big plans to start earning from home, start overpaying the mortgage, and eventually retire early. Just want to get going with it!
In money news I found £1.01 clearing out an old handbag5 -
Ah sounds good, I bet you're itching to get moved and sorted and on to a new chapter.
Plans are exciting, hope it's not too much longer now.
Great finding the change!

Thanks all. Latest update is that we are just waiting for the drainage search to come back. The solicitor has flagged it as overdue so hopefully it will come back this week, then we can start agreeing a moving date.
It's DHs birthday this weekend (a big one). We were child-free last night so had a date night at our favourite restaurant. We've got a few people coming round to see him tomorrow so I'll need to put on some food. There won't be enough space for everyone to sit round the table, so I'm think more along the lines of nibbles/afternoon tea.
Decluttering is going well. I've managed to sell quite a lot between eb@y & fbook. I'll need to get more listed today though then move it out of sight before people arrive tomorrow.5 -
Searches are back...solicitor is on leave!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!2

I feel you about solicitors going away! This time last year it was us, as soon as the searches were returned she went away. Not helped by not ordering the searches for over a month after the offer!
It will work itself out. But the stress is always unrealDebt free Feb 2021 🎉3
