That photo is beautiful. I've been there a few times myself. Must be lovely living so close. Hope you get out and about this weekend and that the weather is kind.

Thank you all. It’s very exciting but also daunting. I’m getting really impatient and just want it to be finished now so that we can start trying to make an income from it.

@hugglemonster we’re loving the way of life here. Even DC1 has changed her opinion and will be moving here full time when she finishes her GCSEs and will do her A levels at a local school.

Speaking of DC1, she started her job this weekend and seems to really enjoy it. Only thing is it’s a bit too far for her to walk (30 minutes down country roads) so we’re driving her back & forth, burning fuel.

The weather turned out quite nice yesterday so we managed another walk along the beach. We found loads of sea glass so I’m going to try crafting with it at some point.

Our farmer friend came back to finish cutting the overhanging trees. If the rain holds off today, we need to get outside, chop it into firewood and move it into the old stable. We could really use a wheelbarrow for moving things like this but we’ll have to improvise for now.

We’ve also got 3 lots of business orders to make today. Business is slowly picking up again but we really need to keep pushing it to build up a more reliable income stream.

Oh, I almost forgot, we’re going to see about loaning 2 horses too. The children would be made up if we took them, but we need to have a think about which land we would keep them on and how that would restrict our other business ideas and potential income.

  • That’s lovely to read that you are enjoying your new home and way of life. Being the taxi on longer country routes can be frustrating but is an excellent motivator for passing driving tests, I have found with my older ones!

Hope the business picks up more and more.

    Thanks @Honeysucklelou2

We were hoping the workman would be finished by now but he’s been rained off a couple of times. It looks so much better already though with dilapidated shed gone. Finger crossed it will be done by the end of the week and then we can get the accommodation installed.

It’s my day off today and I need it. I’m absolutely exhausted! We’ve done 2 big 0lio collections this week and it’s been gone 10pm by the time I’ve finished sorting them and got to sit down. It’s keeping our freezer topped up though so I shouldn’t complain.

Oh and I almost forgot, I’ve had a small pay rise (1.75%) and it’s been backdated which means an extra £220 in my wages this month. It doesn’t touch the cost of living increases, but it’s something.

Irritating about the rubbish piles but I have heard it's common... Great news on the accommodation plans and the demolition of an eyesore. Good luck with your business plans.

Good news too on the backpay. It all helps.
