Well this is ALLEGED behaviour. Why should one troubled child ruin the game for my son? Even if my son decides not to play with this child, as mentioned the lad can just join a group he is playing in and still play in the same game as him.
Unfortunately Fortnite is the pokemon Go craze of last year. Everyone is playing on it. It is a group of 10 of them from the same school that they all play together. This is the whole purpose of this game to allow groups to play with each other or against each other and ...
So even though we have now banned this lad , he can still join the same game as they are all playing and still can report my son !0 -
If you are going to attempt to sue Microsoft make sure you do so under the correct legislation and not something that has been plucked out of thin air...it will look better.0

What actual incontrovertible proof/evidence do you have about this 'troubled boy' is trouble/d? Or is it just hearsay and ALLEGED?0

Lets just say he is well known with the teachers and families.0

But despite your son receiving 2 recent bans for his behaviour you are still letting him play it and ignoring the age recommendations?
Sue Microsoft? Have a word with yourself. The game has a recommended age rating which you choose to ignore despite hearing your son getting worked up about it, "shouting and screaming" at his friends, and there are accusations of inappropriate language online and you want to sue Microsoft? This is not normal or acceptable behaviour for an eight year old child and you are the one in a position to address it rather than blaming a third party for not policing it.
And after describing your son's behaviour, you don't see the hypocrisy in making insinuations about someone else's "troubled" child?0 -
At that age, all online activity should be monitored, and I don't mean by Microsoft.
To the OP, is the games machine set up in a common room in the house, and your son only allowed to play on it when yourself or another responsible adult are present? If not, then I wouldn't be looking at your son's behaviour as the cause of concern.
There's a really simple way for you to know whether your son is using [STRIKE]bad[/STRIKE] offensive language online or not, and you don't need an online forum to explain it to you.0 -

Do you have a source which says that Microsoft stores all voice chat for every game and player?.
That would be a massive amount of data that would need to be stored and it wouldn't be worth it for them considering the cost.0 -
I'm often mistrusting of anyone who describes their kids as a complete credit to their parents, multiple awarding winning, future sports star, boy genius especially at 8 years old...
no one is perfect and microsoft dont just ban people for the sake of it.
the fact you dont believe them is irrelevant, just like it is irrelevant many people think your kid may be lying.
the bottom line is xbox investigated, saw the violation and acted upon their findings... maybe you should teach him lying has consequences and take the xbox away completely for a while.0 -

But only if you're allowing your child to play a game that has been rated as unsuitable for children of his age. Whether it's popular or not is immaterial.0
