Have you considered the Moto G6?
Gets good reviews.0 -
I had thought about the G6 but I think I've had enough of Motorola phones for a little while. The ghost touches and screen fade on my G4 have put me off!0

The ghost touches and screen fade on my G4
This was on the Moto G4 only
Have you considered the Huawei range for that price?
Good spec here with warranty.

If you are interested in Xiaomi devices, you may want to wait for a bit as Xiaomi would open its first UK store in London soon.

Well I won't buy a brand new phone personally, but I would be interested in Xiaomi Android One Devices, Xiaomi Mi A2 and A2 lite. Alternatively Xiaomi Poco f1 has a 2018 flagship spec at a knockdown price. The Western smartphone price has been ridiculously inflated (20% to 50 % or more ?) and UK in particular, Samsung /Apple control market with heavily integrated with network carrier distribution channels. I sincerely do hope Western consumers are able to enjoy more freedom of choices with a healthy competition.0 -

From my point of view, although this problem did only occur with the Moto G4, it was the poor response to the issue from Lenovo/Motorola which did the damage.
I'm more than happy with phones from Xiaomi. At least I know in advance that any issues will be down to me to resolve.0 -
You can easily get a second hand iPhone for under £300 with a one year warranty. That'll blow any Android phone out of the water.0
