Cubs is great - I hope DD thinks so, its unlikely to be a great deal of money and I am sure DD might accept losing some other activity/treat once she gets involved. Some of the trips can be a little pricy so maybe ask around about the timing of them, especially as there may be a few that got delayed during the restrictionsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks Mark 😊 DS did scouts for 9 years and loved it, he got to do so many amazing trips and activities! DD tried Beavers and really disliked it, she enjoyed her first session at cubs better and said she will give it a go but also didn't seem overally thrilled with it just yet. This month seems to be going by quick. Got wiped out by a migraine Friday/Saturday, the new pills the doctor gave me did nothing at all 😟. Bought a new hoover, nothing fancy but 100% better than the old one we had, had a voucher from Christmas too so only had to pay £10. DS passed another exam last week 🎉.Just on my lunch break, frosty out today but DS made me some soup and jam tarts yesterday so having that to warm up and have some phone calls to make 😭 still hate making phone calls.SPC 0761

Hi, it's been a while!Been quite a stressful few months. I haven't been well. I started getting migraines a couple times a week, turns out my blood pressure was so high I was at risk of a stroke. I had to go to the doctors everyday for weeks to monitor it and have had so many tests including multiple 24hr urine tests and bloods. They have found that my kidney function is low and I am now waiting to see the renal specialists. I am on various tablets and although my BP is still considered high, I am no longer at high risk. I have been feeling better since being on the tablets though.Back in February my car went to the scrap yard and I was relying on lifts for 10 weeks and that really stressed me out. 7 weeks in to me not having a car, DHs car also went as his power steering exploded! So we had to find money to replace 2 cars. I got one a few weeks ago and DH got one this week. DS also broke his glasses so that was another couple hundred to replace them this week. It was his 18th this week too so has been a very expensive week as we went out for a meal and the theatre for that. We have zero savings and hardly a penny in the bank until I get paid next week but least we can both get to work now without lifts and DS can see again 😆.DS has finished his apprenticeship so is looking for a job, hopefully now he's 18 it will be easier for him and he's applied for quite a few this week. He has a few weeks left on his college course and he has passed every exam with merit/distinction so far so very proud. He would like to carry on and get his next level but we are going to have to look into student loans. He can access his government trust fund now, which he is going to put towards driving lessons. My mum had a nasty accident a few weeks ago, she tripped in my garden and smashed her head open on a concrete ornament we have 🤕 literally had a hole in her head 🤢and has had problems with her memory again so have been up theirs more than usual. I am exhausted. As most people, we have struggled to keep up with the rising costs of everything and with everything else on top, we have had a rough few months money wise.Would love to get some savings up together and pay off another creditor this year, but also not stressing too much about that as they are getting what they agreed to for now.Hope everyone is well, will catch up on diaries and try and get on more often 😊.SPC 0762

Hello Robin09 - we all need a break from posting now and again, and you have more than enough to deal with in the meantime. But although you have been unwell and have had many demands on your resources squashed into a few months it still sounds like you are on top and fighting - that's all anyone can do. I hope your next few months are a little smoother for you
Also, I hope your health picks up - I do think poor health is a consequence of as well as an added burden for those trying to get by. But it sounds like your treatment is getting you back to shape, even if its slower than it could be.
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Good grief, what a few months! Glad you are coming through it. Make sure your creditors are bottom of your list and reduce your payments to get yourself back on track if you have to.
Congratulations to DS though!

Thank you bothHaven't been feeling the best today. Very tired, more than usual anyway and having cramps and nausea so have just had a quiet day at home. Did pop out quick to get some petrol, milk and some fruit as haven't got enough to do a week's shop at the moment, payday can't come quick enough but have enough in to last a few days. We are back to having it delivered as was easier when we was having car issues, but looks like the building of the new lidl down the road will be finished soon, so will switch back to there.Other than that, we haven't done a whole lot today, watched a couple programmes and tidied up a bit, a lazy Sunday. Has rained all day and have weather warnings for a storm tonight.SPC 0763

Wow you have had a difficult few months. One of my friends was diagnosed with super high blood pressure because of continuous migraines. They also had kidney issues I believe, and see an eye specialist every year, it's all interlinked. They managed to lose a lot of weight which has helped, but I know it took some time to get the medication right for them. I hope you continue to feel better.
I hate how all the expenses seem to happen at once. We have some quite large ones looming, and I have no idea how we will find them. Every spare penny has been swallowed up as prices rise. It's a worrying time.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2 -
Thanks DAL. The doctors have told me that high BP can cause kidney problems, but also kidney problems can cause high BP so hoping the renal specialists can figure out which way round things are happening. None of my other test results have shown anything that would be the cause of my blood pressure being so high though. I was in a hypertensive crisis at 210/170 at my worse so no wonder I felt so awful. It is still high so my doctor upped the dosage of one my tablets last week, to see if that can bring it down a bit more.Working from home this morning. Got a list of orders need doing but first I have to get hold of the bank as they have blocked my work bank card. Need to chase up some other bits so an easy day for me today.Might brave the dreaded marketplace and see if I can sell some bits. There is a club I would like to join with DD, it cost £70 per annum for the both of us so would like to get something to go towards it that is not coming out of the monthly budget. Next month it is my sister's wedding and ideally I would have been putting a bit by each month towards it, that has not happened, so have to wiggle that into the budget next month. We all need something to wear, gift and drinks whilst there, it's at the local castle so isn't going to be cheap but so happy for them that it's finally happening after being postponed 3 times.SPC 0762

Pay day
so have ordered shopping, a bit extra as had totally ran out of some stuff. Got an extra hour in at work as DD started an after school club. Saw my niece as it is her birthday today, just popped some money in the card, have never done that before as I love to buy for her but she was happy enough with it and putting it towards stuff for her flat.
DH started to build a new bin shed, and took apart the old one. He built that one about 8 years ago so has lasted well but definitely needed replacing and we are putting the new one in a different area. He had to go buy a few bits he needed, come under £20 and he's got everything else he needs. Had to stop though as after a beautiful day it's been absolutely tipping down for the last couple hours.SPC 0761 -
Yes the rain arrived here on Sunday and has been on and off since. I did some gardening on sat and was planning on painting some bookcases outdoors on Sunday. Still hasn't happened, and am super busy the next two weekends. Will push it to the bank holidays I think.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉1
