DS had a lovely birthday, although his day out could have been better. It rained constantly the whole day and we didn't get to do everything we wanted. Said we will save to go back another time. He had lots of lovely gifts, cards and money off family and friends, he was very lucky. It is crazy to think he is now the age we were when we had him 😬. 

I got offered the job 🎉🎉 I am so excited to start there. The last week has been so crazy at work sorting everything out and today was the last day before they handed the keys over to the new owners. I will still be going in to help the new owners over the next couple of weeks, as they assumed I would be staying 🤨 they haven't said a word in months and only on Wednesday did they mention about me staying there. I have always said I wanted to leave when they did though as I have been there long enough now and it won't be the same, so I am so so happy to get the opportunity at this new place.

Went to the new place today too and sorted out paperwork etc. Provisional start date at the beginning on June, depending on DBS check coming back clear, have never been in trouble so I assume that will all go okay 🤞. It is such a wonderful place that I have visited over a number of years as DS loved the summer camps there and he attended Scouts there for quite a while. When the summer camp reopens, DD is old enough now and is going to love it. It is definitely going to be a lot different there to what I've been doing but cannot wait. 

2lb on this week, which is fair as we ate quite a lot of junk on the day out 😆 then on DS's birthday the next day we had the amazing cheesecake (even better than last time) and a Chinese. Plus quite a few (way too many) alcoholic drinks with my brother on the one day this week it didn't actually rain, in his garden.

yay to the new job - if you have any doubts or sadness about letting the new owners down, then think of this - if they didn't think of talking to you about your future as they progressed through the purchase then my guess is that they would be poor people to work with - I think you have done the right thing and should not look back, except with fondness of the great work you did

it's always a shame when the weather conspires against you - but there will be sunny days ahead
