Thank you jwil for those suggestions, just had a quick browse on Future Learn and have already spotted a few things that interest me so will look into that more later today, thank you 😁.DD had a brilliant day yesterday, she is so happy to be back. DS didn't like how loud and busy it was again (only a few year groups back too), but he will have to get used to it. He has been talking lately about now repeating Yr 12. With everything that's gone on, he said he doesn't feel ready to go into his final year at sixth form and get the results he will want for uni. He has spoke to his Head of Year about it, so that may happen.Been trying to figure out the doctors again this morning, no luck. Also been on hold to the opticians, but DS's glasses will be ready soon, they wasn't able to fix them but ordered him a new pair under warranty.Going out in the garden now to get some more done as it's meant to rain all day tomorrow. Have a good day everyone.SPC 0762

Nearly at the end of the first week back at school, how quick has that gone! Sunshine replaced by storms, trampoline took a trip during the night and ended up on top of the green house 🙈. Got very little sleep last night because it was so loud.DD has had a great week back, but has been in pain which isn't great. Finally got hold of the doctors but cannot have a phone consultation until next Wednesday 😔. I am hoping they will actually be able to see her. She is having terrible trouble with her knees and today was crying a lot because one knee was twice the size of the other. My mum was very young when she had to have both knees replaced (in her 40s), my sister had both operated on when she was still in school and my nephew has juvenile arthritis in his 😟 so it's a worry she is following suit, she is so active normally and it's so horrible to see her in such pain. Hoping it will something that will pass but want to get it checked out. This weekend would have been my father in laws birthday, and in memory of him I have signed myself up for the hike a marathon for Macmillan 😬. I like to walk but 26 miles will definetly push me to my limit and I am dreading it but excited at the same time. Will definitely need to do a lot of training to work myself up to it. I have done quite a lot of charity fundraising over the years, but mainly by doing events to raise money and think that will be trickier this year, but don't want to just rely on sponsorships, as everyone is struggling right now, will have to have a think.SPC 0765

Got out for a walk today, did 2hrs and 3mins and I did 5.14miles, not sure if that's slow or not? They say the hike takes faster walkers on average 7.5hrs to complete, slow walkers 12.5hrs, so I'm aiming for somewhere in between. Also did the school run, walked to the opticians and had to pop into the shop so have done good steps today. I find it incredibly boring walking around the streets, did enjoy walking along the harbour but think I will do some woodland walks soon, find them much more enjoyable. My brother has also joined up, so will be great to have someone to walk with. Hoping my little walking buddy (DD) will be better soon to come out with me as love our walks.Opticians told me to book in for an extra eye test that DS needs when we went in to collect his glasses. But when we went I was told they cannot give me an appointment at the desk but need to ring me 🤷♀️ madness.Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.SPC 0763

good luck Robin - I think 2.5 mph in an urban environment is very acceptable although definitely not reckless
I would get 0mph done by the harbour as I love the waves and the sea - but woodland sounds nice, especially if it can stay dry for a couple of days
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine4 -

Thank you both 😁.Had a nice mother's day, got woken up with pancakes, coffee, daffodils and homemade cards. Had to laugh when I saw DS's card as it was one DD's pictures, found out he had paid her £2 to make me a card from him 😂 least he wrote it in himself 😆. We then went out for a walk at the local sculpture trail, did 5.64 miles but then DD slipped in the mud and we had to cut it short as her knee was very painful and she was crying in pain 😢 stopped off for ice cream and coffee as a treat at the cafe.DS has had an online meeting this morning and opticians this afternoon, so he hasn't gone into school today. Arranged to go for a walk with BF tomorrow, looking forward to that as although we talk everyday, it will be lovely to actually see her and talk without interruption.SPC 0764

Had a lovely walk with BF, much more enjoyable getting out in the woods and having someone to talk too. Did 7 miles yesterday on my own, boring!Doctor rang about DD yesterday morning and told me to take her in after school, she will have to go to physio but he thinks it is disproportionate growth and should sort itself out. Have ordered her a hiking pole for when we go out.Seemed to have been loads of places today 😕 had to pop to my mums to sort out some stuff there, chemist to pick up prescriptions, the shop to get some fruit and picked up easter eggs and some wine for my sisters birthday whilst I was there. Also had to pop to the local nursery as they had a raffle and I won a £30 voucher for the local florist 💐 will use that for my brother and SIL next month when the baby comes. Also had to take DS to school as he lost his bus pass 🙄 it has been handed in though so they will give it him back for the way home.Hope everyone is well.SPC 0764

Is it your dd's knees that hurt a lot of the time? I had that as a child, 'growing pains' that were diagnosed as one bit growing quicker than the other (so sounds the same as disproportionate growth!), I had to scale back on my athletic training in my early teens because of it. But I did grow out of it. I don't remember the pain bothering me into my mid teens anyway.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4

Yes DAL, it is DD who is having problems with her knees. That is good to know yours got better, the doctor did say that it is more common in athletic children and that with a bit of physio and time for things to catch up, it should get better for her.Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Got out with DD on Saturday, she chose one of the harder walks to do around here with steep walks back up to the cliff top but she said her new hiking pole helped alot. Yesterday we did literally nothing, was such a lazy day, I even had a nap!DS had his online meeting this morning and then I dropped him off to school, not long until he was messaging me saying he was fed up, he's having a down day but still much better than his old down days. Got to go to the opticians after school again as annoyingly last week we turned up half hour late 🙈 thought it was quarter past, but it was quarter to and they couldn't fit him in. Hate doing that, feels like a huge waste of everyone's time but was a mistake and will make sure it doesn't happen again.SPC 0763
