Yes I agree, DAL. It would be a shame for them to go and not get the full experience, will have to wait and see what happens. I also feel for those attending now, my niece is in her third year and has really struggled with being back home plus home learning.

Thank you jwil. Glad to hear you had a good birthday too 🎂.

Thank you WK. She has a big bruise on her chest where she hit the pedal when she fell 😔 but still complained we didn't get out today on her bike, as DH didn't have time to have a look or fix it, so it hasn't put her off.

It rained a lot again during the night and all morning, but brightened up a bit this afternoon so managed to get outside and get a few bits done. Really do need to give the house a good clean though, will make myself do it tomorrow.

Popped to my parents this evening to get a few bits done for them. My mum had her vaccination today and had the AstraZeneca and didn't have the 15 minute wait time afterwards like me and my dad who had the Pfizer, wonder what the difference is. But they both have now had their first dose, as have my sisters who work within the NHS and care system.

  • Was your mum within walking distance of the place of vaccination? My parents had their jab last week ( AZ) but didn’t  have to wait for 15 minutes on the grounds that they weren’t about to drive and could walk home.

That’s great news that your DS has found a course he likes. Is that for Sept 2022?

    Happy belated birthday🎂.

I think it’s because AZ is a standard style vaccine so we’ve  probably had similar before. Pfizer and Moderna are new so they are probably more cautious to ensure people don’t have an unexpected  reaction.

Thank you HSL 😊 yes for 2022. He definitely wants to do something Maths related as has always been his favourite subject and he is is doing Maths and Further Maths A Levels.

We all went to the same place for our vaccinations (about 15 minutes drive away). My dad had his a few weeks ago, I had mine last week and we were given a sticker to say what time we had our injection and what time we was able to leave the waiting room. They were strict about it too as a few people went to leave early and was told to sit back down until their time was up. My mum said no one was waiting nor was having to wait mentioned. I am sure you are right, Jwil.

Feeling very fed up today. House has been cleaned but hasn't made me feel any better and all day has been torrential rain again. My furlough money was lower than any other month, so have had a move money from our small savings to cover it. I had hoped we had overbudgeted on the shopping this month but don't see that we will make any savings, really need to try and sort that out. Savings are very small and feel like we have lots we need to save for. I always hate feeling like this because I know we are not hard done by and I don't like feeling ungrateful but definitely have found my bad mood hard to shift today.

  • It’s hard to keep upbeat when it’s grey and torrential rain  outside. You’ve done better than me...I’ve still got to clean the house!

I know I rarely post on other diaries, but I read along to many every day and trust me, you put me to shame HSL 😆 absolutely amazing how much you get done.

Luckily realised that I had a tesco delivery slot for tomorrow, thought it was coming on Sunday. I hadn't added anything to it apart from my obligatory bottle of milk to save my slot 😆 so sat and did meal plan and ordered that. Realised I had £11 worth of clubcard vouchers so selected to add to order but they didn't come off on the receipt, checked on my account and it said I have no vouchers on there. Got through to customer services online who said they were 'definitely' spent in store today in Newport Spytty (our deliveries do come from this store), after messaging back and forth and being told obviously myself or someone in my household had spent them in store today 🙄 they say it has been passed onto the support team to investigate. Hopefully will get them back.

Hope you are feeling a bit brighter today.  It's hard when it's grey and wet and miserable.

I hope your vouchers get returned soon!

    Thank you jwil.

Felt a bit better today. Was up early to go to the shop before it got to busy to pick up a present for SIL as it was her birthday today. Also had to pop to the pharmacy to pick up mine and DS's prescriptions. Shouldn't have gone shopping when I was hungry as couldn't resist a cooked chicken from the deli and bread from the bakery, but we all did enjoy chicken sandwiches for lunch 😆.

Rained all day so didn't do much but it has been warmer and this evening I took DD for walk with our torches in the woods. She is loving Merlin at the moment, I remember when it was being filmed around here but never watched it when it was on, so we walked around a few of the places that are featured quite a bit on the show.

can't beat a nice roast chicken from the shop - we have a range of relishes to have it with.  as far as luxuries go, its pretty cheap   we used to like the ones hot from the roaster, but they had kind of stopped of that even before the lockdown and its not quite the same buying it in a bag even if its "safer"
