Only one more week of home schooling 🎉 DD is thrilled that she can return. I've tried my best but I'm not the smartest and have had days where it has been overwhelming to see all the work set. Will miss her when she is back. Not sure what I will do most days as work still cannot open properly until at least May, going to write a list of things I can do around the house/garden.

Spent a couple days this week helping DH with the car. By helping I mean I just stood around and occasionally passed him tools and hot drinks and listened to him swearing at the car 😆. He knew he had to change a few bits before he took it for the MOT. He had to pay to have the tracking done but did all the other work himself and it passed without any advisories 😁. We are also going to look at another car tonight for me, seems promising but we shall see.

With the cost of parts, tracking and MOT we didn't have much left from the money I put by from the council tax and then used the rest to order DD some new school shoes. But at least that's all done now.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. The sun is finally coming back out.

I can't wait til they go back!  Great news about the MOT and good luck with the car hunt!

Thanks jwil. DD's new shoes arrived today, told her to try them on and she insisted on getting her whole uniform on and has worn it most of the day with a big smile 😆 she did say 'I hope Boris doesn't change his mind again' but knows we will just see how things go.

We got the car 😁 perfect little car for me that's cheap to tax and insure. Have some money left from what we had put away for the car so will put it towards paying for those and want to buy a spare car seat and a discovery parking pass. So pleased with it.

Such a beautiful day out 🌞 got my washing on the line which always cheers me up and have been sorting out cupboards and cleaning the kitchen and dining room from top to bottom. Cleaned the windows but I am truly rubbish at doing that job, least the streaks show they've been cleaned 😆. Can hear lots of lawn mowers going, may try get that done this weekend.

DH has popped to buy some timber for a project he's got planned, shouldn't cost much as he's got everything else he needs. Need to sort out budget for March and remember to put in £42 for the green bin license, sure that's gone up again and hoping to be able to get some new garden chairs for when we are allowed visitors, excited for that ☺️.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Thanks both 😁 really chuffed to have finally found another car, waiting until Monday to sort out tax and insurance. When DD is back at school, means I don't have to wait until DH is home to get to work, on the days I can go in. Can't even get the bus to work, well I can get dropped off two miles away, which is fine but would be a 3-4 hour wait after finishing for the next one 😆 didn't really fancy that!

Well, today was a lovely and bright day. Clothes dried on the line, lots of sorting out and cleaning. Dragged the sofas out and being optimistic for another nice day tomorrow, stripped the sofa covers off to wash in the morning.

My nephew had his vaccine today, which I am pleased about as felt odd having it before him but he is with a different doctor surgery so I assume that's why 🤔 He has a severely compromised immune system due to a health condition that needed chemo drugs and was isolating long before the rest of us.

Thanks HSL :). Got the car taxed and insured and got out for a drive yesterday, got used to it pretty quickly but feels odd driving it. Apart from the shortlived car last year, I have only ever drove the GTI that has alot more power. Anyway, I love it, perfect for what I need it for and cheap to run.

Weather was lovely on the weekend, got lots of washing out on the line and did the sofa covers, that was a work out trying to get them back on! Cooler the last couple of days but still nice out.

DS left for the bus this morning and then came back because his glasses have broken, will have to see if I can drop them into the opticians today. He's not had them long so hoping they are fixable. I think the problem is, is that when his glasses steam up because of his mask, he is putting them in his jumper pocket and getting squashed, so also plan on hunting down a glasses case.

Need to get the school work printed out and get started on today's lessons soon. Yesterday, DD only had science experiments to do, the only thing we succeeded in was making a mess 😆 but we had fun trying. Only a few more days to go.

Did the budget, blurgh. But can't complain as have enough for food and bills and a little bit put by, so we are winning. Did order the bin license (£42) but will wait until next month to see if we can get some nice new garden chairs.

    Hope everyone is well.

    Hi all,

Feeling very quiet here. DD has been so excited the last week and was up bright and early to get back, the school had set up balloon arches and big banners to welcome them back which was lovely. DS didn't have to go in until 11 so dropped him off and came home to an empty house, feels odd. Really wish I could just go back to work, May seems so far away and not sure what to do with myself.

Have already swept the driveway, patio and catio. Did the weeding out the back and scrubbed the garden wall down as I'm planning on painting it. Hoovered around and had lunch and it's still hours before anyone is home 😭.

Trying to get an online consultation with the doctors about DD but it only gives you a certain list of things to ask about and what I need isn't on there. I know they won't see her about it as it's not urgent but would like to make them aware.

    Hope everyone is well.

Hope school went ok.   It's hard for those who can't go back to work yet.

What about a short course or something?  Is there anything you've fancied learning about? A new hobby?  Future Learn is good for free short courses - you can get them on all sorts of subjects.  Come round and clean my house?
