I won't pretend to know much about buying houses or how the housing markets work as never been in the position 🙈.

So didn't get out with DD yesterday. Our street is having the pavements resurfaced and I forgot to get the car out, before our driveway was blocked with a big lorry and the road closed. We have nearly finished the kitchen, ready for the new floor to hopefully be put down tomorrow. Be so happy to have it finished, so the dining room can also go back to normal as everything is piled up in there. I can get quite stressed when the house is not in order, but not been as bad this time, maybe because no one can just pop in? 😆

Also sorted DD's clothes out with her, again! Sure we did it at the beginning of lockdown but she's definitely grown again. Was okay for most things apart from trousers. She basically lives in her sports wear these days anyway, as she loves exercise and practising different flips and splits, sure she could be a contortionist 🥴. Used £20 from the clothing pot and ordered her a pair of jeans and 2 pairs of leggings for now from h/m.

Had an email from DD's school about the savings club asking if I wanted to cash it in. I have £105 in there, that I had been saving for her new uniform. But I have already got that ready, as MIL offered to help. I have said I will have it, and I will put away for DS's bus fare for Sixth form, still trying to find out how much this will be. Did look into the train, which I know he would prefer but would mean an earlier start, a much longer walk to the station and being there nearly 40 minutes too early, he still seems to prefer this option?

My sleeping has been overall so much better these last few months, but every so often I have a night where I cannot sleep at all, tonight is one of those nights. Gone 4am and I haven't been to sleep yet. Last time I was up for over 48 hours so hopefully not this time, don't really know why, just cannot sleep. DH and DC do tell me that I still shout in my sleep every so often but the vivid dreams have stopped for now, so who knows what I'm on about 😆.

I go through phases with sleep. It's rare I don't fall asleep, but often wake at 4am and that's it, and I can keep doing that for a week or so. I think mine is hormonal, I am just getting to that time of life! It is frustrating though, especially being so tired the next day

Hope everyone is well. Been a while since I've updated here although I'm still on here most days reading the diaries.

Been back at work a few weeks now, it's been good to be back. Problem is having to share the car. Before lockdown DH's mum heard about an old pension of his dad's that she was never aware of, she got a decent amount and said we could have a few thousand to buy a new car, as we do need to replace ours. But now we are planning on getting a second cheap to run car for me and will then save the rest to go towards replacing the car we have now. We haven't had any luck yet though so still car sharing which is a total pain as we work in different directions. DH is quite picky but does know what he's talking about so will leave it to him.

DS has finished his sixth form induction week over zoom, which he enjoyed. DD got to go in for one hour this week to meet her new teacher and was happy to see her friends for a short while. We started the holidays early as we haven't done one bit of school work this week 😆.

There has been quite a few spends buying bits for the house, but not out of our normal budget as I sold bits I no longer liked, to buy new items. I had a allergic reaction to the new cushions I bought though 🤧.

My sleeping is still atrocious, a few hours most nights. It's miserable. Any suggestions welcome. The pills the doctors gave me just made me feel drowsy but I still didn't sleep.

Since lockdown has been eased, we have caught up with family and friends. I was never a hugger anyway, so don't mind we can't get close 🤗 just lovely to see them and feel some normality.

Have ordered us all masks, haven't had them before now as try to stay out of the shops anyway, we have been lucky to start getting delivery slots most weeks but no luck this weekend 🤨 so will have to go and do the weekly shop at some point.

I will try and update on here more regularly again, just feel everything I have to say is quite boring 😆.

Highlight of today was getting to work and there was 14 wild boar grazing in the lay by where I park, beautiful!

Nice to hear from you again!  Glad all is well.

I listen to audio books at night, they help me sleep.  I find concentrating on them distracts me from any worries.

    Your diary isn't boring!

Will have to give that a go, jwil. Thank you. I have tried listening to things before but find I want to know what's going to happen 🙈 haven't tried audio books though.

Had work today, luckily no car sharing as DH didn't and meant that DD could stay home with him. Sorted out the airing cupboard and my wardrobe, again, when I got back. Got another bag for the charity shop. Our charity pile got big over lockdown but when the local one reopened, they would only take clothes so put the rest up free to collecter and it was gone within the hour.

DH's masks arrived today, he needs bandana type as his beard knocks the normal ones off his face 😆. I have ordered ours from a local lady who is raising money for charity, will pick them up in the week when ready. Could have got free ones from my brothers business, but they are are bit over the top for me with the designs.

Was annoyed today to get home from work to realise the cat wasn't around, none of the others had noticed and took us a while to find her stuck under DS's bed, she must have climbed in when he had opened the drawer. He said she hadn't made any noise, so I'm sure she had gone to sleep and didn't seem to fussed, but she must have been under there for hours.

Have eaten way to much junk today, really need to sort myself out. Charged up my fitbit, put it away at the beginning of lockdown as the lack of steps were embarrassing. I don't really fancy going to any groups or anything again as found it quite stressful but going to try and make more of an effort.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Nice chilled day yesterday, watched a couple of films and went for a lovely walk to see the Highland cattle at a local site, the first time we've seen them as they are plenty of places for them away from the paths. We got sausage and chips on our way home as didn't leave until for home until half 6 and we hadn't sorted any dinner.

Walked down town with DD this morning, to pay a cheque into the post office. The savings club at her school usually give cash but not this time, had to order a paying in book, which arrived this morning. Going to use that towards DS's bus fare, have £358.60 saved so far. So will be at least 5 months ahead when that starts. Going to try and save enough for the year before September though as tax credits will be going down quite a bit it seems. We do have £250 in premium bonds we could use to top it up, but would prefer to leave that there if we can.

Very pleased as today I opened the money tins we use to save for Christmas, as they were getting full and we have already saved £609 so far this year 😁, helped by putting my weekly money in most weeks as haven't been going anywhere. Bought two new tins when in town to start again. I won't use any of this for his bus fare as don't want to get to December and be short for DD's birthday and Christmas.

Still haven't been shopping, just can't bare the thought of it. Need to write a list to get us through to Saturday when our next delivery is coming. Going to go have a look now to see what we could have to get us through a few more days, just might be some odd combinations.
