DD really enjoyed her sleepover at my brothers. She always loves going over and playing with her cousin and he took them to the aquarium. We decided to meet up for lunch half way to pick her up, my dad and DS come too. My dad offered to pay for us all! Didn't realise that kids eat for £1 this week, so that was a nice saving on his bill at the end. I don't usually eat such big meals for lunch and it wiped me out 😌 had a nap with DD on the sofa when we got back.DH took the car in for the MOT, it failed 👎 he can sort it out for about £120, so that will come out of the car pot. This is actually the savings for a new car but needs must and nowhere near enough to get another one yet.SPC 0763

Should not have had that nap yesterday, could not get to sleep last night, finally nodded off about 4 this morning 😳. Dropped DD off at best friends for a sleepover, popped to the chemist for my prescription and some cough lozenges, as I have a tickly cough 😟.
Then went with DS to see Book of Mormon, definitely not one for the easily offended but was very funny. We had a pizza hut buffet before we went in and was so stuffed! Was a nightmare getting back home though. DH was picking us up and with roads and bridges shut, he was late getting to us and then took over 2 hours to make a 40 minute journey, I was bursting for a wee so much, I had really bad stomach cramps 😟 today has been a bit spendy with lunch and some merchandise from the show, plus needed extra petrol but was worth it, DS is such a huge fan of musical theatre, it is his happy place 😃.

Picked DD up this morning and we went off for our caving trip. She has been wanting to do this for such a long time but had to wait to be 7. She absolutely loved it and cannot wait to go back. We was very lucky because no one else had booked so was just the two of us and our guide. He took us to another cave that is harder and we wouldn't have done if it was a bigger group. He was so impressed with DD as she did some pretty hard climbs at points and he said he has groups of teens who won't attempt some of the stuff she did. She smiled the whole way through it and wants to go deeper next time. I am already aching and have a giant bruise on my leg, definitely going to feel it more tomorrow 😧Spends today was for some sweets. One pack to go with a gift tomorrow for a party DD is going too and one pack for us tonight when we watch Ant and Dec 🤣But DH has gone out tonight, but he has his own money saved for that and is driving so won't be drinking and they have all paid for the extra petrol and his meal so shouldn't cost him much. Not like the last time when he got so drunk, he spent over £30 on a taxi home because he thought they'd left him behind, while they were all there looking for him 🙄 I was not impressed!SPC 0762

Before Christmas I signed DH up for online shopping as there was a code, can't remember what but paid for most of our Christmas treats. Haven't used it since, so he got a £15 off £90 spend voucher this week. Our budget is still £75 a week so worked out well and stocked up a few things. I really wish we could get out shopping budget down a bit though! Have always hovered around the £75 mark. Know we could get it cheaper at Lidl/Aldi but none around here (although one being built reasonably close by at the moment) and I really hate shopping! Can't think of nothing worse than going to do that every week 😂🤔SPC 0763

Glad you enjoyed your trips. Sounds like you've had a good half term."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Thanks Jwil. Yes half term was good fun, I am always sad when they go back.DD had a party on Sunday, which she loved. They had hired a dance coach to teach them some routines. She had a great time and was so much better than the dreaded soft play. I am hoping and praying that they will soon be too old for parties there! We realised on Sunday evening that DS had inset day yesterday, so he spent most of the day in bed whilst I had the big meeting I have been dreading 😖 it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but still wasn't great.A few spends yesterday and today. £15 for choir for the term. £10 for a laptop charger as DS squashed the lead with his computer chair and snapped his 🙄. £10 for breakfast club for DD, she's never been before but DS's meetings start next week and we have to catch the 8am train to Cardiff, the £10 is for 5 mornings over the 5 weeks and a lot better than DH starting work later to be able to drop her off. Need to budget in £70+ for train fares next month but could be worse, we could have been paying £80 a session and we do get reduced fare with my train card.My sleeping has been horrible and I am having such vivid dreams and keep waking up wandering the house, turning lights on etc. Dr Google is saying I'm sleep deprived with stress/anxiety but will actually wait to see what my real Doctor has to say about it 😆. I am absolutely exhausted though, that's for sure. But least my legs are starting to feel normal again after the caving trip 🤗 that's a bonus!SPC 0763

Another week flown by. I have been out for lunch 3 times this week. On Wednesday my BF treated me to one of those picnic bench lunches, absolutely delicious and had a lovely afternoon out with her😊. Yesterday, I finally caught up with a friend that I haven't seen since last June, I've missed her but we've both had a lot on, popped up after work and she made me a lovely lunch of homemade soup and bread 😋. Literally just walked through the door from work today and my parents rang to say they were off out and did I want to go, I was hungry so off I went. Not a penny spent on them either, what a treat!
Car passed the MOT after DH did the work 🎉 I was out there helping and did feel a bit sorry for him because he struggled because of his hand, still trying to build up the strength in it, but he was getting very frustrated with himself. But he did it 😀
Had my doctors appointment this morning. He has given me a prescription for some meds that should help me sleep. He basically said I look like a nervous wreck 😰😂 I have known him since I was little so he does know me well. He wants me to go back in 6 weeks. I won't get away with not going either because he will ring me if I don't! I think I may give them a go. I really want to sleep well! Won't be starting them til Monday though because my pre paid prescription card doesn't start until then and I am not paying. For some reason every year when it renews I have a gap of 2 weeks between the end/start dates. Always mean to ring them to sort it out but never do.SPC 0764 -
Congrats on the MOT, & I hope the prescription helps. Disturbed sleep is so horrible!
You've made me hungry for soup now, maybe I'll make some this weekend 😊Starting debt (Aug 2018) £17,900

Well done to DH for fixing the car.
Definitely try the meds, a good night's sleep will help so much.

leaving a gap is very MSE as its effectively a discount - although annoying that you have to wait for the meds to start working for youI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine3
