so sorry to hear that - thoughts are with you - its so difficult at that age, everything hurts and all you can do is be there and give him options but can't make it go away

I'm sure someone wiser will be along soon with something more helpful
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
  • Thanks marks. It's hard not to feel like we are doing something wrong somehow. But need to remind myself that we are doing our absolute best to be there for him and get him the help he needs for his mental health issues. In so many ways we are close and he talks to me about a lot but then something like this happens and nothing seems right with the world. He has had lots of tests done today and physically will be okay, thankfully.

I am also genuinely shocked that he was sold them, whilst in his school uniform, suppose that doesn't make any difference but I always assumed under 18's wasn't allowed to buy them.

So sorry to hear about DS. You have absolutely done nothing wrong, please don't think that way. I'm glad he's ok.

I don't think it's illegal to sell the tablets as I'm pretty sure the age limit is 16.

    Big hugs for you xx

  • Just catching up Robin. I have no experience or words of wisdom but just wanted to say you are amazing and to send you lots of love and strength at this difficult time xx
  • Oh Robin I'm so sorry to read about your DS. I've been through similar with a family member and I remember every time it happened feeling a complete mix of emotions - heartbroken, frustrated, angry, helpless...
Thankfully she has got through it, is doing amazingly well, and is now helping others. You sounds like a very loving family and I'm sure your DS will get through this too.

    Hi robin :hello:

How old is your son ??? I'm so sorry what you're going through it's a horrible feeling so helpless when it comes to our babies

My daughter is 17 been struggling with anxiety and depression for 3 years now finally getting her to see a counsellor once a fortnight but they refuse to put her on antidepressants because she's not 18..........what's does 8 month makes

I completely relate to how your feeling as my daughter self harms when she's having a panic attack in order to ground herself but I'm so scared she'll go too far

Plus put in a offical complaint to the practice manager of our doctors as they prescribed my daughter 200 tablets she takes for her anxiety........what hope have we git when the doctors make stupid mistakes especially when my daughter says she would overdose if she wanted out

I'm here to chat if you want it's sometimes good to chat to a stranger xx

  • I'm so sorry Robin. I just want to say (I know because my son has had a mental health crisis in the past) that none of this is your fault and you are not doing anything wrong. All you can do is love him and show him that you care, which you are doing.
