hello there - new subscriber alert - just had a quick skim through - slow but steady is definitely getting the job done, so don't be too keen to change things that are working - and be very careful to think of the down sides of self managed as well as the benefitsI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

There must be something in the air Robin! I just can't sleep at the moment either despite being exhausted by 9pm.
How annoying about the shopping. It's one of the reasons I have never had mine delivered, I have done click and collect a couple of times though. We tend to use Aldi now though, the quality is fantastic, the prices are great and it's on the walk home from my office. I tend to just get a few days worth of food at a time though to avoid waste, and so I can carry it. I'll do a big tins/bulky goods shop once every 4-6 weeks though.debt consolidated 16/8/18 £9,788.01/£12,618.12(Total debt at LBM 1st Jan '18 c..£19.5k)

Thanks mark88man, I really enjoy reading your dairy, mine may be a tad boring but nice for you to have subscribed
. You are right about our debt repayments going down slowly and surely. I broached the subject with DH again and he still seems keen to stick to SC for a little while longer and get some more money saved up, which is sensible.
Shopping came thankfully Jwil. Oh the drama I had to put up with because there was 'nothing' to eat :rotfl:
The lack of sleep is what gets to me the most starmummy, hope you have managed to get a decent sleep tonight. We have never had our shopping not turn up before, luckily we have it now. I would love to use Aldi but we have none around here, nearest is about a 30 minutes drive away. There have been talks ongoing about opening one local to us for a long time but the CoOp keep fighting them and winning so planning never goes through.
Yesterday I stayed and got the house cleaned, I had zero sleep but knew I would feel worse if I had sat down and although I didn't do the deep clean I had planned on, at least all the house got done. Had to spend on giving DS money for his lunch and DD's £1 for athletics. Also bought a bottle of Night Nurse, as finds this helps when I get this bad, I managed to get a few hours sleep last night.
Today, I had to go and sit at my Brother in Laws house to wait in for the boiler man, I ended up falling asleep while I waitedhad time to come back and get dinner sorted before picking DD up.
Looks like it's going to be another late night, already propped up on the sofa. It's getting quite chesty now so will go to the doctors if needs must. I am prone to chest infections so need to be careful as at the beginning of last year I ended up in hospital as it got so bad.
NSD 4/15. Not doing as well as I had hoped so far.SPC 0760 -
keep on keeping on - you'll catch up on your sleep soon enough - although with kids and modern life that maybe when you're 60 or 67 or 78I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Thanks mark88man
slept better last night, feel so much better for it today.
Yesterday I went to work and then to my parents to do their ironing. I didn't like having the money off them but they said they would be paying someone anyway and they insisted. My mum is not doing to well at the moment with a MS flare up. I hadn't budgeted this money in so I put £15 in the sealed pot for that challenge and £10 in the new pot for the debt paydown. Our lowest debt is £84 so I am aiming for that first, as even if we don't go self managed just yet, I feel like I am doing something extra. Plus if we ever get any offers for a reduction we may have some to cover it. Makes sense to me anyway :rotfl:
Ordered DS some books he wanted yesterday but he gave me the cash from his Christmas money so will still class that as a NSD and will use the cash for my weekly money. Got the refund for the shopping that wasn't delivered so the bank balances are where they should be at.
Today I have to pick DS up early from school for a meeting so DH is coming home early to get DD. Tomorrow will be the same, but tomorrow's meeting is further away so my dad will be driving us. Hoping they will be able to help him with his sleeping problems as he is seeing a specialist this time.
This months payment to SC has gone out today, two more payments and we will be in the £16,000's bracket.SPC 0760 -
Debt paydown pot is definitely a good idea
Hope DS meetings go well x"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks Jwil, meetings went well.
Work this morning before picking DS up to take him to his appointment. Afterwards my dad took him for some food while I popped into town to pick some bits up that my mum needed. Picked up some birthday cards from the Card Factory as running low and lots of birthdays coming up, £2 spent there and £3 in the £ shop on some snack bits. Need to buy both DC a new drinks bottle. DD has lost hers and DS's lid broke off this morning, so he didn't have a drink to take with him to school. Did have a look but had no luck finding any.
DH has had a successful day getting some bills down. £10 off a month - gas/elec. £6 off a month - car insurance. £12 off a month - tv/broadband. £2.50 off a month - house insurance. I am very happy. Would have preferred to have got rid of the tv package altogether but then I rarely watch it so wouldn't want it anyway.
Really hoping to get some sleep tonight. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.SPC 0760 -
Nice chilled day today. Got a bit more sleep than I have been, but DD was up earlier than normal  DH was out helping a friend so I took the DC to the new Zog trail at the woods, and the play area. Was so tempted to stop at the bakery on the way home for some lunch but come home and we had ham and cheese toasties instead. Spent the rest of the day at home. DD isn't letting Christmas go just yet, so we ended up watching Home Alone again :www:SPC 0760
