Raisin.co.uk are a disgrace

My partner and I received emails this morning to alert us to the change-over to Starling.
We both logged-in, setup the passwords for the new system and checked the accounts.
From my initial examination, all I can find to grumble about is that the transactions displayed for the initial deposit back in June show dates in November (but the document showing the deposit with Gatehouse is correct). And there's no bonus yet!0 -
Happy to report we have today checked our accounts and the £10 bonus credited to the respective accounts.0

No email received but see I have the £10. What's the link for the new login? The old site currently says we have a new portal and are down for maintenance.
Seems it never worked for me and my account wasn't migrated. Had a lot of techinical issues with these guys, has put me off using them again to be honest. Not even convinced they'll send the money back to my correct account on maturity.
'Unfortunately we encountered an issue migrating your account to Starling, therefore a New Raisin UK Account could not be created for you.'0 -
I've just contacted Raisin UK customer Services. I was querying where my £50 bonus was from last august when I opened their 1.95% account. I was one of the numpties who didn't look at the full Raisin info on the MSE article to see that I had to email Raisin to get the bonus. You don't get it automatically. I called them and spoke to the most objectionable bloke ever!! His name was Craig. He wouldn't give me his surname. He also didn't advise me that I still had a week in which to email my request for the bonus.
I have to agree that Raisin are a disgrace purely because of my experience today. The man had attitude from the start as soon as I'd explained why I was calling. He told me 'if you go through a third party and don't bother to look at our website what do you expect?' He said loads of people have been phoning saying 'where's my bonus' (which he said in a whiney childlike voice!!). He wouldn't tell me his manager's name and didn't know where he was. I was livid coming off the phone. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all and don't want to call them ever again. Fortunately I went through the MSE article and saw my error but realised in hope that I might actually still be in time to get the bonus. If anyone else needs to claim, you have 6 months from the date you put the money into your account with them.:beer:0 -

Thank God he didn't give you his surname as you'd have probably quoted that too.
Reads to me that the only part of the process that's fallen down is you not reading the terms and then not acting upon them?0 -

To claim a welcome bonus, all you need to do is send an email from the email address that you used when you registered for your Raisin UK Account to bonus@raisin.co.uk, with "Welcome bonus" in the subject line within six months of you funding your first savings product. This email should contain your full name and the amount that you are eligible to claim.
We will credit your Raisin UK Account with the appropriate welcome bonus within 14 days of you successfully funding your first savings product, once we have received your email and verified that you meet our eligibility requirements.0 -

TL;DR - you didn't read the T's and C's properly but that's someone elses fault and you've just come on here to vent and we'll never see you post here again.
I look forward to reading your TrustPilot review :beer:0 -
Different sort of problem with Raisin but equally worrying.
Did my research and decided to take out a 12 month fixed bond with Raisin.
I want to take out a substantial bond which is over the £20,000 transfer amount a day, so went to my bank last Tuesday to transfer funds by CHAPS as thats the only way my bank (NatWest) would do it.
4 days later, no money in my Raisin account. Called their customer service and totally outraged at their response!!
Was told that they don't accept CHAPS and the money would automatically be paid back into my own bank account.
Phoned my bank and they confirmed that Raisin has in fact received my money and there is no sign of any returning money.
I have had 2 calls with Raisin customer service and both were a very bad experience. First guy argued that I should have transferred £20,000 per day on online banking and when I told him that I am away from home and don't have my NatWest card reader he tried to argue I didn't need it!! "excuse me I have been banking with NatWest for 30 years and any new bank transfer set up needs a card reader"
Raisin website says that 'To complete the application and purchase of your savings product, please transfer the full amount you pledged into your Raisin Account' and nothing about CHAPS payment not accepted.
Second call I was told that he would end the call if I continued to talk to him that way. Not one bad/swear word left my lips, although I might have had a very slight raised voice but who wouldn't when £85.000 has left 1 account and not to appear in another.
I am waiting for a call back from Raisin to tell me where my money is!!
Not happy at all!!0 -
The point I was making with my previous post was that I had called Raisin to have a discussion about the bonus, for which I was still within time for claiming, and right from the start got attitude. Like I say to Craig and to you 'NO NEED TO BE RUDE!'. And to add to that, despite the previous person copying and pasting what was on the Raisin website, that's actually incorrect according to Raisin. They have contradicted that paragraph in their FAQs apparently so even when you do look on their website it's not correct !!
Trustpilot, now that's a good idea. I'll send you a copy, Gary :j0
