Thanks Kathryn, have you had anything like it before?

Not had soya mince when I went through a veggie stage as a teenager. Believe they have improved it since then. They needed to!
These days I have to eat red meat for my iron levels.

Hello everyone - regulars and new people alike

I am under a consultant now for my sinuses - next appt in a month's time. I've had tests etc and been deemed too borderline to intervene with anything medically - a blessing but it would have been nice to have a 'real' reason for my struggles :/I have been referred to the weight management team though for a group intervention (a bit like sw but focusing on health and nutrition i.e portion size etc rather than 'syns') though so hopefully that may help

for the past four weeks I've been doing a calorie based meal plan where I'm supposed to eat a 1500 calories a day and I have discovered that actually i have really struggled to eat that much. the idea was to help look at portion size and habits etc and in reality i have had under 800kcals a lot of days purely because I'm not managing three meals plus 2-4 snacks (depending on cals) last week I only managed the needed amount on two days so i have had several lectures from friends and professionals that actually i need to eat more *consistently* in order for my body to be happy to lose the weight which part of me understands as i'll eat plenty one day then hardly anything for 2/3 so i expect it ebbs/flows or swings between confidence in receiving necessary nutrition and sheer panic at starving...

anyway sorry for the essay that probably didn't interest anyone :/

I have decided to eat in a way more aligned to sw but to ease myself in to it. starting next week as i get paid one week today. roughly my plan is breakfast: weetabix and milk with fruit or fruit and yogurt or something like beans and toast/scrambled egg and beans etc. lunch: salad with lean meat or fish, jacket potato with beans. tea - not sure but will be cooking two meals. one for husband and one for me and littlie

things are hard at home. I'm not convinced husband wants to be with me or indeed cares in anyway but time will tell

    Thanks for the chart Chris.

    Congratulations on SOTW Sky.

First real test coming up for me. I have three meals out followed by a few days away. The meals are at Nandos, Boston Tea Party and an Indian. Nandos and the Indian shouldn't be too much of a problem (especially as my BF is coming to the Indian too and he helps me find the best choice foodwise) but Boston Tea Party has thrown me a bit, every option seems to come with toast or avocado! Has anyone been there and can suggest what I should have?

Lush , no woder you are struggling with all that is going on:( if you are not happy at home it obviously affects you mentally which in turn affects eating/weight loss.
What makes you think that about hubby? and why cant you all have the same meals?

it's just hard as he knows I'm not happy but doesn't see everything I try and basically blames me. i have a bad habit of writing his attitude off as part of his condition is brain damage and a portion of his is frontal lobe so the psychologist in me knows his short temper, and bad attitude (and somewhat egocentric/single sided/almost aspergic traits) go hand in hand with some of that.
He doesn't understand how to supportive of me or why/that i need some kindness rather than his blunt nature.

he is ridiculously picky and has inherited his mother's crazy food beliefs (like black pepper is spicy and sweet peppers are hot) and doesn't like smells he didn't grow up with so BBQ/chile/ginger/most fish etc etc all set him off :/ I've tried to help him try new things. i thought the little one would help (conversely she will try anything!) but he was ok for a bit and now he is back to being silly about it. so it saves a lot of hassle and waste if i make him something he will eat
