The rain cleared for a time after I posted and we went up to the Ramparts but only walked around for about half an hour so not a particularly long walk.
Only had a small piece of bread at lunchtime with a ham salad! There will be more bread this evening with the burger and onions, with even more salad. May even have a slice of cheese on top the burger.
Enjoy your holiday Chrisv. Thanks Kathrynhanfor taking over the chart.
Weather has brightened up considerably so may go for another walk later.

Well done on putting your lapses behind you Stoke.:T You're right that it gets harder when you've not much left to lose but it is worth it.:) I've decided to go to WI on Friday instead of tomorrow in the (vain:() hope that I might get back to target range. I like both Thursday and Friday consultants so I don't begrudge them the money if I have to pay. They haven't got rich on me in the past 7 years!:D
Right now, it feels impossible. I only have to have a single slip and that's it, game over. Week is done. It's never been like that before. I've been able to 'whoops', sneak a bad evening or so, but now it seems any kind of slip and I end up with a maintain or a gain followed by a loss.
It's going to be an interesting few weeks. I go to Penzance next week with my family. Now, I could just eat like the rest of them and see how I get on.... or I could continue to follow plan at the expense of perhaps my own personal enjoyment?
Trying to weigh it up at this point. I might just see how I get on though.0 -

I think the option somewhere in the middle is best. My holiday plan is normally to try and keep up with the third speed, but have the other 2/3 as the same as everyone else. Also I try to have a good breakfast, so at least one meal a day is on plan, and breakfast is the easiest for that.Zebras rock0 -

But it's not game over really Stoke. You're not going to have a bad day or an off plan meal and put 5 stone back on!:D It might stop you losing that week but that's all it means. The most important thing is that you don't, for example, go out on a Saturday and have beer and kebabs, decide that you've blown it for that week and then just carry on sabotaging on Sunday and Monday and.....:( You have to draw the line and get back on plan ASAP. Its just like being at target, it's hard to stay within that 6lbs range (or effectively 3lbs unless you're below target). What matters is that you see eating on plan as your default position, the one you always return too after you've had more treats than you know is everyday life. It's going to be an interesting few weeks. There are (at least) 2 camps on this. I'm in the camp that says enjoy yourself but make as many wise choices as you can. So have cooked breakfasts but avoid the sausages as they could be high syn. You'll have an excellent breakfast with bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. You could have 3 hash browns for the same as a slice of bread unless you know the bread's wholemeal. If there's a salad or JP choice at lunchtime, go for that instead of the bready things. For your evening meal, have what you like but try to get some Speed in alongside the chips! Kathrynha had the excellent idea of just eating the batter at the top of the fish and leaving the soggy bottom;). That won't stop you having a pasty or an ice cream or a cream tea. And remember it's jam first in Cornwall!:D
I forgot to post my menu earlier:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for drinks
L: JP with cottage cheese, spring onion, beetroot, pickled cabbage, gherkinpork burger, fried onions, SW chips, tomato, mushrooms, broccoli
Syns: 2? Burger isn't made with 5% mince. I'll mop it on kitchen roll but it won't be syn free.0 -
Finally managed to catch up, seriously impressed with the losses. WI tomorrow, feels a long time since I weighed, was not that good before I went on holiday as I was trying to get rid of the food in the fridge, so not enough speed eaten, was too hot to eat while I was away, so didn't overeat, but have to confess to having some cake, but not just any cake. In Egypt, visitors always give something to the host, in this case it was an ice cream cake! I had forgotten they make them and omg, it was delicious, layer each of strawberry, vanilla & mango, with scoops as decoration. However, I refused the "slice" I was given, & asked for it to be halved
Tried to keep damage to minimum, just hope the gain is not that big:(
Trying to be on plan, but not done a decent shop yet, so doing the best I can.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Hello! I hope it's ok to join. I joined SW around 20 weeks ago now and while I did well at the beginning, I've kind of lost my mojo (let's not talk about my extremely "flexible syns" weekend!). Anyway, it's time to re-commit and make this happen. I've lost (or had, see flexible syns, whoops!) 1.5 stone and want to loose another 2.5 to hit target. So I'm looking for inspiration on meals, not the same old same old, particularly things that keep me away from takeaways! Unfortunately I've found I have an issue with dairy since starting SW (must have been all that muller light originally!), I don't eat too much meat and I do prefer to cook from scratch/batch cook than buy processed, all of which is the usual 'go to' at my group. So, sorry, huge waffle, but I really hope this group will help inspire me!“WHAT WE FEAR DOING MOST IS USUALLY WHAT WE MOST NEED TO DO.” RALPH WALDO EMERSON0

Afternoon All
Slightly soggy down here but did manage to get out a bit today walked from Blackfriars train station over the millennium bridge then as the tide was out ds wanted to walk along the riverbank along the Thames, unfortunately the steps up past the globe are missing the bottom steps so both kids had to pull me up onto the steps, bet that was a sight! Walked down to borough market all around there (bought fruit and tea no cake or bread!) then back to get the train home. Trying a cup of my new tea now! Feeling proud I had a salad for lunch am amazed at my new found will power, hope it lasts though.

Welcome SarahC74. Everyone welcome. You might find it helpful to post your menu plans each day. Alsomlooknat other peoples plans for inspiration.
Do you go to group or are you doing SW on your own? If you go to group it might be worth getting hold of one or two of the books, particularly the Fakeaway one.
Alternatively there are several blogs worth looking at, eg Pinch of Nom, Slimmingeats. Just google Slimming World and see what comes up. You can also do your usual recipes and substitute Frylight for oil and add extra veggies to up the Speed in your meals. Also try mashing your potatoes with an egg rather than butter and milk. Things like that will help keep the syns lower,
If you want answers to anything soecific just ask. There's usually someone around to answer.

Many thanks! I do go to group, it's just that my personal food choices seem quite different to others so I don't really find it that helpful, particularly with the dairy-free element. I'll certainly have a look at the blogs, and the fakeaways book though, thank you!
I've never tried the egg in mash thing although I've heard of it. Silly question but do you just beat and egg and whisk it through when the potato is cooked and that cooks the egg? My other half has a low immune system so I just need to make sure the egg is properly cooked!“WHAT WE FEAR DOING MOST IS USUALLY WHAT WE MOST NEED TO DO.” RALPH WALDO EMERSON0
