  • Whoops, been MIA for ages. Hope everyone is doing okay.

I’ve been scared of the scales for a few weeks after starting a new job and having works done at my home and moving out for a little while. All contributes to rubbish food creeping in and a lack of control. Plus the feeling of “I deserve a treat” which I seemed to act on every day. I think I did put on a little bit but was confident enough to get on the scales this morning and I am a STS

    The relief....:rotfl:

Must try to stay on the straight and narrow.

Morning, thanks Chris for the weekly chart and well done Arkers for SOTW
Well pleased to report -2.5lb loss this week.
Think next week will be a massive gain though as been poorly so OH has taken over the kitchen, got to love him but pizza n chips, egg n chips etc is so not S.W. friendly. Thankfully I don't have a massive appetite right now so I have only had tiny protions but can't wait to get back to nice food again, there was a time I would have bitten your arm off to get a pizza but I think I'm over it now and definately prefer SW meals.

Well done on your loss majorica.:T Sorry to hear you've been poorly.

I agree about enjoying SW food. I find that even when I'm eating out I really don't want the junk food. There was a time when I felt that by 'choosing wisely' I was missing out. I don't crave pies or pasties or fish in batter any longer. I wish restaurants could make SW chips though and that booze didn't have so many syns!:rotfl:

I keep intending to make myself some SW frozen oven chips. I've experimented with them (parboil as usual, cool and open freeze) and they do work. I can't remember if I sprayed with frylight then or before cooking or both. It might help you if your DH needs to take over in the kitchen again.

I've got a tiny amount of beef and some beansprouts to use up so I'm having stir fry again for lunch. Syn free sauce this time though.:)

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for drinks
L: teriyaki beef stir fry with noodles
D: savoury mince, new potatoes, carrots, greens (broccoli, cabbage, beans).
    Syns: noodles 1

    HI Guys,

Thanks so much for all the praise for SOTW, feel it is not deserved as I have been struggling with my head space which is affecting my eating. I appreciate I'm not alone when this happens, so onwards and upwards. Unsurprisingly I have a STS this week. Thanks for the chart Chris.

    Keep going guys

    Arkers x

Had a truly terrible weekend, but such is life. It's still a marathon, not a sprint. Hopefully the scales will say something else, but I can't see me getting away with this one :D Onwards and upwards mind.

Good luck for the week everyone :)

Me too Stoke ....so much so that I sent hubby out for a McDonalds yesterday lunch time.

Going to try and pull it back in time for the bank holiday weekend :rotfl:

I due to weigh on Friday as we're going away in the caravan but in all honestly I think it would be a waste of time but I will see how we go in the meantime.

Tete - hubby cooked the joint of beef we had on sunday in the slow cooker - omg it was lovely (which was the start of the rot sunday)...I was a sceptic when he said about cooking it that way but I think it is now my all time favourite way of doing it.

    Hope you're feeling better beanie.

My consultant put up a notice about the new foods coming to Iceland and I must admit I was very interested - apparently there's a couple of Indian dishes/sauces coming out so am looking forward to try those.

Not sure what I'm having for tea tonight but will be something light.

We had beef on Sunday. I ummed and aahed about trying it in the SC but didn't in the end. It ended up a bit tough so now I wish I hadn't oven cooked it. Would you (or your OH;)) tell us how you did it?

My lunch was absolutely delicious. It's an old teriyaki chicken recipe from a SW magazine but I used some strips of the cooked beef instead. Lush! It would have been free but I used straight to wok noodles.

Where is lush by the way? or Top Girl?:)

Thanks for the brilliant idea about freezing SW chips maman i will need to try that, I don't think the rest of the family minded about "proper" chips for a change though.
My DD has come up trumps and made me a crustless quiche and got some lovely cooked ham from the butchers so I'm sorted for tonight. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow
