  • First time I've had to look in today and it's taken me ages to read through cos I still want to find out whether scuzz talked to him on line or not. Tell me I didn't miss something!

I've been dashing round today and got next to nothing done. Thought I'd have a couple of minutes on here to read this thread (when I should have been cleaning out the deep fat fryer :o ) but now I've noticed my coffee is stone cold so must have stayed a wee bit longer than I thought.

Shall set my timer for 10 mins, fly round and get jobs done in kitchen and then come back for a look in. Am so addicted. :D

I've managed to elbow my way onto the computer for a few mins, butthe lodgers pacing up & down the hall waiting for me to finish. She was calling me at 6 this morning as she couldn't find the price list on a website, it's the 4th time I've shown her & she's an IT teacher, worrying isn't it. I got some sweetst ready for the trick or treaters, the little ones are ok, they are neighbours kids & the biggies are usually from the school where I work, I don't recognise them when they are masked, but the way they say 'Hello Miss' is a bit of a clue.
HM Chow Mein tonight, not sure if hubby will like it, he'll eat it either way, lol.
I have a big batch of soup bubbling away in the SC so I need to finish it off.
Hope everyone has a safe & happy Samhain
    Hugs Hester

    Good evening everybody!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :T Haribo, especially at Aussie's pictures. But please tell me that mousie is not........*gulp* goneicon9.gif ( you have to admit, she's a fine looking bird:p ) Is it just me, I can't get the catowen one to work, and I want to see it?

Have had a really busy day, didn't get on here until 4pm:eek: It was the old folks lunch club, and I'm knackered! Since I've been back I've had to do breakfast for DS3 (he's on nights) and now trick or treaters keep knocking, interrupting my MSE time. I don't mind the littlies so much, but I do object to sullen teenagers, in a hoodie and "scream" mask, demanding their treat. I think we've adopted the very worst of the tradition in some ways. In the USA and Canada, they tend to only knock at the houses of people known to them, and they don't vandalise your car or house if they're refused. This has happened to us in the past, which is why I now give to all who knock:o Also they have a lovely array of costumes, not just ghosts and ghouls. Moan over:o Tru, I loved your pumpkin:D Not quite what I was expecting!! Between you and Haribo, my computer screen has suffered an overdose of coffee splutter!!!

scuzz hope this bloke works out better than the last one. No advice from me, I was so totally wrong last time:o Just fingers crossed for you:D

Welcome to bridget 81:D Prepare to [strike]waste[/strike] spend more hours on here than you ever thought possible:rotfl: :rotfl:

Going to have a surf round now, bye,

    Hi you all

Well, I have had the DTs - no MSE and then too busy yesterday to have a look!!!! Well done to everyone at MSE Towers for resisting the attack. Upside was I got loads done at the weekend - DH took me to B&Q and I bought the last 4 of their multi pack pansies plus some polyanthus. Copious tubs planted up. I do hope my tubs will be lovely in the spring!

Trick or treating - well, we call it guising up here in Scotland. I did it many years ago in Thurso (spent weeks eating the fruit, nuts etc and if I got money - well!). My kids did it just in our street (24 houses) and were delighted with the fruit, nuts and sweets they got. Occasional money was a bonus but not expected. I am afraid to say we have over the last 2 or 3 years not done it as it is teenage kids coming round, rather threatening and it has lost its innocence.

Moiliere - so sorry to hear news about MIL. It is difficult when you are at a distance.

PenPin - hope you are OK. Can't wait to see the chooks!

Haribo - what a wee rascal you are. Just loved your pics but the server at work blocked a few. Will have to revisit tonight to get the whole picture!!!!!! Just wait until Aussie catches up with you. Hope Pink OK. Sorry about burnt food.

CrazyC - I have sent you an e-mail!

Kyle - hope things pan out OK for DH and glad to hear Twink's decorating more or less done. Tried to access your photos at work today but they block that site!

Scuzz - hope things work out.

MeanM - thanks for the facebook stuff but having a huge problem getting my head round the site!

There are a few others of you not keeping too well, or spouses, kids etc. Hope things not too bad.

Now only one week to go until I can drive again. I had my 24 hour heart monitor on Monday morning through to Tuesday so expect to now get an appointment for the hospital Outpatients.

Had a response from the Pension Fund today - looks like I can go at 60 instead of 65!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to look at any financial penalties if I go in 3 years time (they didn't give me a forecast) but hopefully I can afford to do it!

Welcome to our new posters. We don't bite, honest!!!!!!!!!!!

    Love and hugs

    Hi again everyone

You lot are crazy, mad, but great.

Scuzz - I would have said call him too, I did with DH about 35 years ago, and we celebrate our 34th shortly. Never did tell him the logic behind the call though!

Had a lovely day here today, not done much apart from a little cross stitch and a snooze in the sun. Going out tonight to a local cafe/restaurant for our favourite fish platter. Its a Bank Holiday here tomorrow, so hoping the sun which has now come back stays.

    Happy Halloween.

    Evening everyone :hello:

Fingers crossed that I win the £10 million lottery jackpot tonight. :D We only enter when there's a prize "worth" winning so a share of £10m would be ok-ish, I think. :rotfl:

Welcome to bridget81  Nice to have you around.

Penny Pincher - looking forward to seeing photos of your hens!

scuzz - so, how did it go???? ;)

DH called me at 6 to say that he's just leaving the middle of Leicester, so goodness knows when he'll be back - especially as his route back home takes him through roadworks . He seems to be really enjoying the new job, and providing he survives his 3 month probationary period we'll probably look into moving across there. Not that it's too far to move, but........ I would have to move jobs (not a bad thing as current head is a complete and utter muppet - can completely understand why the school is in Special Measures!!!).

Anyway, supper tonight is spag bol (HM, naturally) which has spent the day defrosting in the fridge. I have to admit to having put quite a bit of "spare" red wine in this one, so whether anything will get taught tomorrow is something I'll have to contemplate then!!!

    By for now
