I had great plans for this week, then the heat hit!
So far been to the Dr, post office and supermarket (and didn't just buy booze and ice cream - I expect at least a small parade for that...)
Will commence kitchen de-hecking soon, got some hawkwind on the record player ready to go.... First job is to get rid of (OH's) mouldy bread. I know they left it here in the hope I'd eat it but it was never going to happen and the freezer is already full of other breads they've brought home.
We're moving in together soon and need to have a serious sit-down talk about the freezer not being a bread orphanage! Already had "the talk" about things I bring home but in my defence, candles are lovely and hardly ever go mouldy...
Got an ice tea in the fridge for when it's done....0 -
Ugh. Too hot, too much hefting and shifting heavy things (did I mention to them that my fit note specifically stated no lifting and carrying? You bet I did. And did it make a blind bit of difference? Like hell, did it).
Limped back home to meet Himself on his way out to see his son, got a quick hug and he's now gone for however long he's going to take.
On my way out of work, I was met by the Boss, who breezily said 'but you're getting better, aren't you?'. I've had two tablets so far. And it's supposed to take up to six months to heal, assuming I haven't actually got microfractures in the bones that are hurting, which might take longer.
Sometimes, it's just not worth the effort to try and explain, because they just can't understand.
Four weeks until the end of term. Four long, long weeks.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Oh Dizzy just no, poor you. I agree though, might not be as bad as it seems.
So ... madly busy at work - 9 hours in the office today but I did manage to make a lasagne before I went in and have just run the cordless vax around. Have to go out for an hour tonight so just chilling out.
Blimey it's hot out there.
And I am hobbling around having done something to my knee. So no gym for a few days, only a good couple of weeks to our holidays and I dont want to be injured!
Kitchen floor needs a going over but will wait until everyone has finished traipsing in and out.0 -
'I loved coming into year 1 because it feels like home, a place I like coming to, where I have friends.'
That ^ is taken from a pupil comment on one of our reports. To say I am thrilled is an understatement.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
And finally I'm back in for the week! :j We had a busy weekend away, and today has been full on, so this has been my first chance to catch up with the end of last week and the new threads.
Hugs all round to those who need them, to those having a carp time at work, to those who just might throttle their offspring....
Thank you for the lists, I'm loving tomorrow's list, and feeling a bit pleased about missing today's. I know, I know, that's not the idea!
I'm off to bed, so catch you all in the morning. Night!0 -
Oh Valli - what a wonderful comment from one of your pupils! You've made a huge impact on them and should be so proud!
Meeting with a new sparkle today. Let's hope he isn't as slow as the last one...0 -
I'm in this week and feeling motivated to sort some **** out. Had a great long weekend in holiday house with friends and DD, realised that one of the reasons we like being there and it is relaxed is perhaps that it is simple and tidy, everything has a home and there is space in cupboards etc. I am ruthless in that if we take something there from here and it doesn't fit in or have a home it comes back so no lingering things, tables etc are clear. I want this, our everyday home to feel the same. So off for a quick shower and then to attack our bedroom. (probably the easiest room but it will motivate me and I will benefit from it most). Have actually made progress here over the last year or so but it comes in fits and starts.
So, see you all later0 -
^^ditto^^ Valli, what Dizzy said about your lovely pupil comments.
My, but it's already hot out there. Tomato plants have been watered while they are still in the shade, the ironing pile that grew over the past week has been conquered with the window wide open to let in some air, DD has been called to rouse her from her pit at least 50 million times.
My old iPad seems to be on its last legs, so I need to have a look at where I can conjour up some money from over the next few months to get a new one. I can't say that sitting in front of a laptop looking at our finances is sounding like an attractive way to spend today...0
