Why isnt my car selling??

Thanks for the advice. Just 1 question...I've written "offers welcome". Why isnt anyone even offering?
Because its far too expensive and damaged with a poor service history.
Why were the first 2 services not at the main dealer?
If your price is right they will haggle a little, but buyer wont like to haggle a lot off usually.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Because its too expensive for it to be on peoples radar for price and the short MOT, damage and it being 6 years old and the unloved 1.6 litre engine mean they wont want to bother.0 -
416 2012 Qashqai's for sale. Why would I choose yours over main dealer serviced cars with no damage?
Even at £6999 i think your still going to need the right buyer at the right time.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Price too high, not a popular colour, damage
I assume if somebody doesnt or cannot afford to fix damage, that the rest of the car has not been looked after either.
However most of all, things like this put me off - " Priced low to sell. Good, reasonable offers welcome. *Looking for quick sale*"
Just sends alarm bells ringing, no need to say that anyway because firstly it isnt priced low, and secondly EVERYBODY is looking quick sale, I mean who lists their car and hopes it will sell slowly? The whole quoted section makes me think the seller will be a lot of hassle, and that the car is probably a pudding.0 -
"With damage" = Must be cheap if I'm going to bother.
Short MOT = Ditto.
A few scuffs around the plastic in the back. Not a deal killer, but makes me want it cheaper.
You're not a dealer, so no comeback, possible hassles. Again makes it cheaper.
As others have said you're asking top money for it.
I wouldn't even bother to come and see it because I know you wouldn't come down enough for me to buy.0 -
Because many people don't like to buy privately any more, they would rather have the additional consumer protection of buying from a dealer plus the security of not having to work out how to hand over thousands of pounds to a private individual without getting ripped off. The lack of such buyers is why companies like We Buy Any Car now exist.
This basically. Up to a few grand I am kind of ok with transferring to the private bank account of someone I know nothing about and hoping it will lead to me driving a car I've had a maximum of about 20 minutes looking at. But that's about my limit.
AFAICS for more than a few grand most private sales are occurring between classic car collectors and motor enthusiasts.0 -
I think your advert does you no favours:
Most of the photos are good, but a couple are quite unflattering.
"MOT can be renewed before sale if needed" - Of course it's needed? You need an MOT on a car to be able to use it on British roads.0 -
Ok.... for kick off, and in no particular order -
- Pretty much the first line of the advert is "Minor damage to body of car". I'd stop reading at that point. If i'm prepared to pay a premium for a low miles car, i want it to be mint.
- Short MOT
- The 1.6 is viewed as underpowered
- Its too expensive. I can buy one a year younger from a dealer, mint, and a warranty for £7685

My advice :-- Sort out the bodywork
- Full years MOT
- Drop the price to £6995 if you want the phone to ring. Dont negotiate downwards from that price other than a few pounds "goodwill gesture"
I’d call that mucky motor many things but not mint!
I can’t make any sense of the OP's link.0 -

Those photos are significantly more 'flattering', but even then, those interior shots look horrible. Maybe the interiors are horrible? I've sat in plenty of Nissan's though and I thought the interiors were fine. Maybe it's just the Qashqai?0
