Why isnt my car selling??
Hi all
I listed my car for sale about a week ago, and I've had literally no interest. Its the cheapest one on Autotrader and I'm happy to accept reasonable offers (I've written that in the listing). Can anyone offer any insight into why I'm not getting any interest?
I can't add the link here for some reason?
Anyway, its a 2012 Nissan Qashqai in good condition with only 26500 miles on the clock. Its magnetic red colour. Smoke free, pet free, MOT due Sept 2018, full service history. I've listed it for £8,250.
I just dont get why anyone isn't interested! Please advise!!!
Thank you! :money:

Because many people don't like to buy privately any more, they would rather have the additional consumer protection of buying from a dealer plus the security of not having to work out how to hand over thousands of pounds to a private individual without getting ripped off. The lack of such buyers is why companies like We Buy Any Car now exist.0

Just over 2 months MOT left.
That would be enough for me to look at another one.0 -
Short MOT and it might even be too cheap. People will look at the short MOT and low price and think there's something wrong with it.
Put a full MOT on it, it'll cost you no more than £54 if its been looked after so passes. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It's not the cheapest on Autotrader, you admit it has damage, the first 2 services from a non franchised dealer is odd, very short MOT, rear interior looks fairly well scratched, too expensive for a private sale. You'll sell it at 7k0

I've offered to get the MOT done before any sale if that's what the buyer wants.
Also, for the model and mileage it is the cheapest on there and the interior is pristine - not sure which listing EcoR1 is looking at0 -
If you do want people to see the advert put a broken link up and someone will post it for you.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Your car is not the cheapest, nor the best of its kind on the site.
A quick scan around the internet shows similar cars being sold privately from 6k and without any damage.
HonestJohn values your car from 6.9k to 8.15k with an expected sale upto 7.5k.....in perfect condition.
Remember, you are selling privately, but asking the same price as dealers who give full warranty on their (undamaged) cars.
Realistically, you should be expecting more like 6k to 6.5k in its present condition.0 -
Wow...that was unnecessary.
Not every buyer wants a Quashqai, (or any other marque for that matter), over all the consensous is that the car is over priced, headlamp obviously out of alignment (has it been in a smash?)
You have to go with the market, offer at the fair to good price and expect the fair price.0
