School uniforms are so expensive! Glad you've got it sorted though. Hopefully you'll find a house that you like soon, and without the stress of flakey sellers.

I have finally caught up. I don't know what to say, I think everyone has beaten me too it! Just one thing I will mention which I don't think anyone else has. Are you sure you need to buy an aerial? If you are hoping to move soon it may be something you could not have to spend. I have a sky dish & box which I bought many years ago (about 20 or more) when everything was going digital (at the time the installer told me I would need a 12 foot mast to get freeview, I only needed 8ft which I got anyway). I have never paid sky itself for anything monthly. Lots of the channels are free. I am on my second box bought from a local second hand electrical shop. To be fair I don't actually use it much, just when the local freeview is throwing a wobbly.

Thank you CCL, ceremony and badmemory.
Thanks for the thought badmemory, it's much appreciated. Unfortunately I can't get freeview or anything through the dish, I was really hoping I would be able to but something about the set up of it and the area means it won't work, annoyingly. At the time, my house wasn't selling and I envisaged us being here well into next year, otherwise I probably would have just left it with sky for a few more months. The aerial guy actually came the other day and fitted it all, didn't take him long and will be debited with my bill this month. I've allocated the extra, but it would have been nice to avoid paying for it!
I had the call yesterday to say I can view the (only) other house I'm interested in on Friday. I am praying it's as good as it looks online and there are no major problems, if so I have told them I will pay the asking price to secure it. Unfortunately there is no offering under asking price on decent properties here at the moment, everything is going so quickly and has 20 or 30 people interested on each house, if not more. I have been so anxious this past week about it all. I've received the paperwork related to the sale of my current house from my solicitor today and the potential purchaser's surveyor is coming to value the place for their mortgage this week, so that is all proceeding.
Another £25 went to the emergency savings pot this week and I covered DS's new clothes and a few other things with the cash I paid in from my purse. I need to pick up a few things from the supermarket later, but have £9 left on the gift card my Dad gave me which should more than cover it.
I also renewed my car breakdown cover which was £32 for the year. This has come out of the 'car' pot, so no spends from the main account.
I'm weather-watching as I have a load of washing on the line. there has been a break in the rain here and the sun has actually come out, so I'm hoping the washing will dry outside for the first time in what seems like ages!

I’m at my parents again and it’s been such an incredibly tough week. I’m absolutely exhausted so won’t say more than that now.
The house I viewed last week was awful, with water and damp, down every wall due to 3 leaking chimney stacks and the roof leaking. Another week wasted thanks to complete lies told by the estate agent. Still looking, although have gone down the ‘anyone want to sell me a house’ route locally and have had a few people get in touch. I’m viewing two from that this week, but not sure how suitable either are. One will mean no reduction in the mortgage, the other will, but neither ticks every box atm. We will see.£25 has been added to the premium bonds savings and another £50 to the H2S savings account. Total savings now stand at £3375 and another £668 split between the car maintenance and Christmas/birthdays pots, so technically over £4K saved.I put payment of £190 for something for the house onto the credit card, but have paid off £115 of that leaving £75 to pay when the tax credits are received. I can’t bear having an uputstanding balance on a credit card these days.
Off to try and sleep, I’ve hardly slept the past few days and have a long drive ahead tomorrow so need to sleep tonight.

Thanks both x
Had the most horrific journey back from my parents - torrential rain, loads of water on the road and long delays. Just thankful to be back in one piece as a car not far in front of us aquaplaned, span and ended up in a bad way. Driver was ok though thankfully. I felt my car lose traction with the road twice, it was horrible. After an hour and a half of getting back, we went to see the two houses I mentioned in my last post. Both not on the open market yet and had first refusal on both, so I was hopeful. One has been completely refurbed and redeveloped and looked stunning.... It wasn’t. It was a complete bodge job and I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. The second was also a non starter. I’m so fed up with this now.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

We've had torrential rain here all night and I'm a bit worried about going out this morning. Sounds scary - pleased that you're safe although sorry the houses didn't turn out to be any good. Not giving up

Hope your journey wasn’t too bad CCL xDS is with his Dad for the week
and I’m at OH’s. I was awake early again, have not been sleeping well, so am sat snuggled on the sofa under a blanket with a cuppa in hand, letting OH have a lie in in bed. Had a nice enough day of not doing much yesterday until more of the ex’s lies about me came to light late last night. I don’t understand why he has to lie all the time but I’ve realised in the past few years that he has real narcissistic personality tendencies and lies constantly to make himself appear better to himself and those around him. It becomes so draining and there is absolutely no need for it, I wish he’d stop, I am so sick of dealing with the aftermath of his lies and I really do have enough to deal with without all this extra unnecessary cr&p.
I don’t know what today has in store yet, other than an hour at an event of DS’s, so at least I will see him for a short while today.
I’m looking at two houses so far this coming week. Neither are perfect and both have their issues externally - one has no parking other than on the street outside and has no frontage, it’s a semi with the door directly on the pavement which is very different from what we’ve ever had before, the other is the ugliest looking house I’ve ever seen- but both look nice inside and one has a lovely big garden. They are both around £35k - £40k cheaper than my current house too so would mean a chunk paid off the mortgage and money in the bank.
Not much else to report, have a happy Sunday all xxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I would rather an ugly house with parking and a solid build than one without parking. We are finally (fingers crossed) moving to a house with parking after 11yrs battling communal parking and I cannot wait!Debt free Feb 2021 🎉6
