Thank you  CCL, PB and Chrystal, it does mean a lot. xx
Yes, I only moved from our last house because we had to CCL. Major structural issues which were beyond my affordability and a whole host of other issues I unearthed. I only part exed to this new house for peace of mind and the stress of knowing it was new with nothing more than the normal snagging issues you expect in new builds, that really hasn't worked out has it. :(
It sounds daft, but it's really changed me. I feel 15 years older than I was 4 years ago and feel like this has completely done me in now tbh. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.

I had a bit of a positive news yesterday in that someone wants to view this house next week. I've also chased the builders to fix the issue asap. I can't see that happening without a prolonged fight though.
For every glimmer of good news I have, the world then seems to slap me down again shortly after, this time with news that my Mum was very poorly again yesterday with worrying symptoms and also that I've missed out on the only other house that I was interested in and was getting excited about. it's been on the market for 7 months, typical it sells now after all this time now that I was interested in it. I think I must have unwittingly smashed a room full of mirrors some years ago or something. :(

Urgh, I’ve spent the best part of two days cleaning, moving furniture, stashing things in the garage to make the house seem more spacious, even taking photos and pictures off the walls, filling holes and repainting only for today’s prospective buyer not to show up. I am just gutted and so annoyed.
There are three more viewings booked within the next 5 days but none of these are proceedable yet.

We had three cancellations and one no show last week. I just feel it's completely rude!!!

Why would people do that? It's so rude and takes one minute to pick up the phone and cancel.
Sorry - hope the other viewings come to something...

Drawingaline - oh my gosh, you must have been so annoyed!
I don't understand people either. If they had a genuine reason, fair enough, but it doesn't take a minute to make a phonecall does it. I go to a huge effort getting a house ready for a viewing as I'm sure you do, (although some houses I've viewed myself, people haven't even done the dishes!!), so to be let down like that is just plain rude.

Thanks CCL, so do I. I'm viewing a lovely little house this afternoon that is on the market for £70K less than mine and ticks nearly every box for us, so I was so hoping to have an offer on mine. It would mean very little mortgage left for me too.

  • Hope your viewing goes well today MeandO and that you get a positive response from the viewers in the next few days. Getting a house ready for a viewing is hard work - I used to pop things in the oven to get them out of the way for a viewing, just had to double check the oven before cooking tea!

  • I hear you there! As you know I’m selling my property too and before each viewing I have to throw so much stuff into my car to make the place look more tidy! It’s exhausting! Good luck with the viewings! xxx

I chuckled at your comment HSL2, because my recycling bin and dish drainer is currently hiding in my tumble dryer! There are bits and pieces hidden in drawers, cupboards and under beds everywhere, the trouble is, I forget where I've put everything afterwards and have to find everything again that I've hidden away!
