Thank you Moneywhizz, I can see your point and the course would certainly help me progress and even hopefully help me pay the mortgage off quicker in the long run.
OH has all of the books I would need as he has done the same course in the past.
I’m a little over £200 away from reaching my target of overpaying £1800 off the mortgage within the year (by next March), so I think once i’ve reached that amount i’ll funnel the money towards raising the course funds instead.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

Having a credit card with an outstanding balance does not sit easy with me now. I can’t do it, it stresses me out. So, i’ve withdrawn the money from savings to pay the balance off so that I can close this account down. It’s not the right way to live for me. I’ve also paid off an extra £100 off the mortgage so I feel like something good has been achieved this month.
The savings balance is now £2600 (+£900 in H2S so £3500 in total). That’s a decent enough EF. I would like to build it up more, but will do so after Christmas and take a bit of pressure off myself.
The mortgage is now down into the £102k’s, albeit only by £1.
I picked up a few YS items in sainsbos today and also a few Christmas gifts in B&M.
DS and I are off to the cinema tomorrow with two of the six free tickets I receive from my bank account each year. I’ll park in my work car park too and use the permit I already pay for via work to save on any extra parking fees.
My sky tv subscription is up this month and i’ll be £22 a month better off if I cancel it. Only problem is, there’s no aerial on or in this house, so I assume i’ll need to fit one. I do have an aerial in the garage from a previous house so maybe OH can help me try and put that up. I wouldn’t know where to start,
Early nights for both DS and myself tonight. He was up very late at his Dad’s watching movies and ‘eating pizza from a box’. What can I say...Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

I've paid the credit card off, I think I will close it down too and get rid once the balance is showing at 0. I just can't be dong with credit cards anymore, I find it too stressful.
I've had to re-jig the savings a little. I've closed the ISA I had and have moved to a 2.5% saver. The only problem is that I can only pay a max of £400 in a month, so I have put the max in there this month, shifted the balance of the savings to another pot and will pay the £400 a month back across to the main account in time for the standing order to go into the new savings monthly. Hope that made sense. I have also added a bit more to the gifts pot so that I have money for Christmas presents.
DS had a paediatrics appointment this morning, looks like he's going to have to have an exploratory procedure soon to discover if his issues are caused by anything more serious. I'm going to be a wreck, I'm dreading it.

I cancelled our sky subscription in August. Kept the sky box and so we get the free view channels through it so it works like freesat. Otherwise if you want to be able to record get a freesat box.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0

Sounds like you've made some good decisions on the savings front!
Hope your appointment tomorrow goes well and they don't find anything serious, and of course keeping my fingers crossed for your DS's appointment too. You really have one thing after another don't you!0 -

Thank you all. :heart2: I’m so thankful to say that I was given the all clear yesterday so that’s certainly one big thing less to worry about. I was very aware that other people I was sharing the waiting room with were not so fortunate though, I really felt for them.
We are awaiting an appointment for DS’s endoscopy. I really am so scared but obviously will play it down to DS and try and put him at ease. I’m not even mentioning it to him until nearer the appointment.
Today has been ok. DS jumped in my bed early this morning for a cuddle, the sun came out for a while, work was fairly enjoyable for a change and I managed to clean all three bathrooms and get two loads of washing washed and dried after work today. DS tried some new foods and even asked for fruit today which is unheard of! We’re doing fine. I love our little team of the two of us. :smileyhea
OH turned up tonight with a saucepan full of homemade (from scratch) chicken curry, rice and poppadoms. :T It was lovely, and there’s enough to feed us both tomorrow too. He brought over loads of salad on Monday evening and he has made us both salad for our lunchboxes tomorrow with some YS quiche from the freezer.
Money wise, I bought some shopping yesterday but managed to cover the cost with money from my purse. I really can’t afford to spend much from the bank account so am trying to be as mindful as possible about every little spend - as usual.
Off to try and catch up with some sleep. I was restless all night last night so am tired tonight. Hopefully tonight sees a good night’s sleep for us all.
