Two more items sold pending collection this evening which should make £75. £15 of which is DS's so I'll transfer that to his savings account.

I made a few purchases for the new house yesterday but have had second thoughts, so have cancelled the order of two items. It was a new bed base and headboard as mine is on its last legs, but I've decided to just use it until it's completely broken. If it breaks in the move I'll buy one then. Feeling really down at the moment and no doubt yesterday was a bit of emotional spending. :(

I'm feeling so low today. I burst into uncontrollable tears at my desk this morning after watching something quite thought-provoking, thankfully I'm still the only one in the office so no-one saw and have slapped some emergency make up on my face to try and cover up the red eyes. :( I am feeling like it's all too much at the moment.

It's payday today so I've transferred money to various savings pots. I need to sort my car insurance later, but have the money to cover it in the car pot so no worries there.

Try and be kind to yourself. This is a massive upheaval for you and you were already stressed with the current house before all of this started.
Just ride the bad days out, the good ones will come.
    Lots of love

I give up with selling stuff via gumtree and fb. Of the three items ‘sold’ in the past two days, one has been collected and paid for (£15 transferred to DS’s isa); the second didn’t turn up after badgering me to see the item as they were ‘desperate for it’, so I messaged them after half an hour to say I couldn’t wait in any longer, an hour later I got a rather blunt messages back saying ‘we’re here and you’re not in, when are you back’. The third item was the best - I ended up being called a liar and receiving aggressive emails from a lady who had arranged to come and see it as she didn’t believe the condition it was in! Lucky escape there, she sounded absolutely bonkers!

As it is, a lady from the same place as I work has emailed me about the same item so I’ll arrange for her to view it if she’d like to.

A friend of mine wants to buy the other item DS was selling for £20, so that will be some more money in his ISA.

The other items I just may well keep until after I move. I’m tired of dealing with rude and ignorant people at the moment.

This morning OH and I dropped all of the stuff to the charity shop - a good car full. I took an electrical item the charity shop didn’t want to the tip on the way back. A shame as it is fully working, but no-one wanted it.

Whilst there, I did a shop in Aldi. I had a trolley full and was pleasantly surprised when it only came to £37! I’m sure it would of been closer to double that in Asda or Tesco.
I couldn’t get some specific things that I needed though so will need around a £5-£10 spend in Asda or home bargains tomorrow.

OH got everything down from the attic for me yesterday, not that there was much up there, but at least I don’t need to go up there again. He has taken the camping stuff out of the way for me to store at his until after I move.

DS and I will be watching a Christmas movie this afternoon and possibly doing some baking. We’re not going out - it’s freezing and we have the heating turned up and a blanket ready to snuggle under in front of the TV this afternoon - perfect!

    Happy Saturday all xx

Elf was great, lots of snuggling and lots of laughs. :)

It really helped after another load of stress thanks to the ex when he dropped DS off. One day the ex may shock me and actually tell the truth, I don’t know why he has to spin so many tales all the time.

I’m cooking some freezer bits for my tea. DS has been fed and OH is out tonight so it’s just me left to cater for now.

I had A nice chat with my parents earlier. It upset me a bit after though, I wish we lived closer. :( Feeling a bit alone today, I guess it’s because OH is away and, alongside DS, he is the only person I have here. I often wonder how, after coming from a big family, I have ended up so alone. :(

Anyway, off to stop my freezer fodder burning.. gosh I spoil myself! Xx

Keep your chin up girl, it will sort itself out in the end. (((hugs)))

Is there any particular reason that you Have to live so far away from your family? Perhaps you could start planning to move closer in the future. It would give you something to aim/look forward to if it's possible. X
    I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy
  • Are your jobs transferable and relatively easy to relocate?

Glad you had a good afternoon with your DS. At least the attic is empty and that's one job ticked off in readiness for moving.

Unfortunately moving closer isn’t an option for many reasons. :( Equally, my job is not at all transferable and positions like mine are few and far between. Saying that, I’d love to retrain and head along a completely different career path, no idea what though. :o

The moving fund is up to £1250 and I should be able to get it up to £1400 quite easily this month. I’ve also built the gifts pot back up to £200 as both DS and OH have birthdays early on in the new year.
I only need to spend £20 max now to complete the Christmas shopping.

I’ve paid the car insurance in the past few days, (£264) getting it for £50 less than renewal by shopping around. The money has been transferred from the car pot to cover it.

My friend bought some of DS’s old toys so I transferred the £20 to DS’s ISA. I have a standing order set up which puts a little bit away for him every month as well as a portion of any Christmas or birthday money he receives. There’s an extra £35 gone in there this month thanks to selling stuff too. :) Hopefully by the time he needs it there’ll be a decent amount in there.

The person who wanted to buy the item of furniture last week but didn’t show up rearranged last minute for Sunday - then failed to show up again  so they won’t be invited a third time. I’ll keep it for now and if it really doesn’t fit in the new place, I’ll sell it then.

DS has hospital tests tomorrow. :( We have a fun event planned for this weekend though which is giving us something to look forward to.

I have two house move related appointments within the next week, after those there is nothing else on the calendar so it will be nice to try and relax a bit and just get on with Christmas and packing without having to worry about being somewhere else or getting back by a certain time.

  • Thinking of you today...hope the tests go as smoothly as can be for your DS and give you some answers.
