Thank you all xx
The high of accepting an offer on my house has long gone now unfortunately. It's been one heck of a week I don't wish to repeat. No point going into details, I wouldn't know where to start and I'm so tired after practically no sleep due to armed police running round our estate last night(long story), but my brain is not working for me today. I have a horrible piece of work to do too which I've been putting off all week, it's too difficult to concentrate on these things when I'm trying to help DS as well so I have left it for today which hasn't turned out out to be the best decision. DS has been upset a few times this week, he has really been struggling emotionally with everything now and is really down about life. It kills me to see him sad.
We're also having to fight to get my Dad treated quickly before it's too late and there are huge issues at work. It's been one of those 'Stop the world, I want to get off' weeks.
As for the house hunt, it's not great. I have two viewings booked tomorrow but after driving past them this week, I'm not sold on the location at all. The power of social media may have found us a prospective house this week though. I am viewing that this weekend too. It's not perfect, it doesn't tick all boxes, but it ticks a couple of the big ones and is A LOT cheaper than this house so financially it is a winner. I have to be realistic that I am not going to find our dream home in this current climate with everything going for so much more money than before, especially if I want to reduce my mortgage too. I just need to find us a lovely home for the next 10 years or so that we will be safe and happy in.
In financial news, I've paid another £200 off the credit card today, so there's just over £500 on there now. This will be paid off within the next month or so, I'll make sure of it.

A really mixed bag in your last few posts and I think you are right in that it is almost impossible to find a perfect house. I hope you find one that is perfect for you right now though. We always chose our area first before the house as you can change the house but cannot change the area.
Does your DS go back to school next week? Maybe that will help him?

Is there such a thing as a perfect house I wonder? xx2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I saw 4 houses yesterday and none of them were any good - all had obvious costly problems which would need attention. I was so disappointed.By perfect, I wasn’t meaning the house of our dreams, but perfect for us for the next ten years or so - preferably with parking, a nice sized garden, decent sized bedroom for DS and a room we can use as a playroom so DS doesn’t lose what he has now. And no major repair bills. One of the houses had a bulging gable end wall and obvious structural cracks, two had major cracks inside and needed refurbishing throughout and were on a really busy road (and were quite frankly, dirty), the last was ugly, but a nice space inside except for the kitchen which was the size of a cupboard and the garden never got any sunlight.
I’m feeling pretty miserable today tbh. 😕Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

Sorry to read that the house viewings yesterday have proved unfruitful. Hopefully we are coming up to Easter and Spring when generally more properties come to the market ( at least that seems to be the pattern here). Do you get email updates from estate agents as to when houses are about to come on the market?paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thank you HSL2, I do hope more will come to market soon, but then again I know how many others are looking in the same area so it's a real scramble every time something comes onto the market. It's very stressful. I am registered with them, yes, but times are such now that they are not seeming to send many emails out, houses just go on zoopla or onthemarket etc and they're gone sometimes the same day - much like mine was.
We're hopefully into the last week of home schooling this week, both DS and I are glad. I'm going to try my hardest for us to have a better week this week. Last week was a tough one and there were lots of tears from both of us at various times throughout the week. Will try to put my fun mum shoes on today...Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

One more week of homeschooling. One more week. Hopefully. To be fair, DS did really well getting on with things himself today, but it’s still hard to work at the same time. It will be so good for him to see his friends again when he goes back too, he has been struggling more this time round. The weather has been sunny here today so I’ve managed to get a load of washing dry on the line, saves pennies not using the tumble dryer.
There’s some chicken and veg roasting in the oven for our tea and food is planned for tomorrow too. I am hoping to only have to spend a maximum of £50 on shopping from now until money next hits the bank account in a couple of weeks, so am trying to use up what we have and plan meals a little more.
Still no new properties on the market today. 😔 My buyers surveyor has booked in for a couple of weeks time though and I’ve chased the bank for a correct mortgage promise for me - they’ve messed it up a couple of times in the past week which I’ve had to point out to them, so hopefully it will be third time lucky.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

I had poor DS sobbing on me tonight. 😢 We had been chatting to my parents on speaker phone and they had briefly spoken of their various hospital appointments. Afterwards, DS and I had a little discussion about making the most of things, being positive, having lots of laughs and making lots of happy memories and I think the reality that he may not have his beloved Nanny and Grandad for much longer just hit him like a bus. He was absolutely sobbing on me for a while, whilst I just cuddled him tight. 🥺😢 So, he was late to sleep tonight as I made sure we had a nice long chat and laughs before bed and finished the day off with a few jokes from his joke book at his request. The tears are now rolling down my face whilst sat in my bed. 😞
I cut DS’s hair again tonight, ready for school next week. A week gives it enough chance to grow a bit if I took any chunks out like I did the second time I cut his hair! I’ve got the hang of it a bit more now and the £20 clippers I bought last year have more than paid for themselves now after 4 or 5 haircuts.I’m hoping I wake up to an inbox full of notifications of lovely properties for us which have come to market overnight. The big local agent here tends to list their properties overnight so I always eagerly check my email in the mornings hoping to see some thing good. I’ve even been known to check at 2am when I woke up and couldn’t sleep...Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86
