Oh dear you have a lot going on. So sorry to hear about your Dad and hope the op goes ok next week. Good luck with the house selling/buying. Thank you all xxUnfortunately there was more bad news last week, with my Dad now requiring other procedures too. These next few weeks are going to be tough.
I’ve been trying to keep busy and have been gradually sorting the house ready for the estate agent to come this week. I’ve decluttered a bit more but will need to do a big clean and final declutter towards the end of the week once DS is at his Dad’s again. There’s another two bags in the garage now for when the charity shops reopen and a piece of furniture has gone over to OH’s for now to make our smallest bedroom look bigger.
I’ve taken a few more pictures down and filled the holes, just need to touch the paint up around the house this week. The bundle of clothes I listed on eBay sold yesterday and I posted it via a locker thing last night. I was about to charity shop the lot so am pleased I got a little bit of money for them instead.
I’ve just made a big root veg topped cottage pie (DS won’t eat mashed potato) for our tea tonight. I used some YS turkey mine I bought yesterday for half price and used up half a swede, some carrots and a big sweet potato that really needed using so am pleased nothing has gone to waste. I have worked out the calories per portion via an app I use and it’s really healthy, so I can freeze a few portions for another day. I have not been feeling well for some time now and the past few days it has really hit home that I need to start eating better and looking after myself more.
OH and I went for a walk last night, only about 3 miles but we walked quite fast and my Fitbit showed 45 mins of cardio. I felt exhausted afterwards, but am glad we did it despite the rain.Unfortunately the walks around my house are limited atm, so it’s hard to do the same from here. Another reason why I can’t wait to move. The child benefit should be paid tomorrow, tax credits on Wednesday and pay day on Thursday. I can’t wait to pay a chunk off the credit card and get that balance down. I have decided not to take the money out of my savings to pay off the estate agency listing fee, so I will be paying as much money as possible off the credit card for the next few months instead of paying extra into my savings. Hopefully I can clear it within 3 months and it’s interest free too.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

Morning all,
Still plodding along here. Struggling a little with each day being more or less the same, but on the other hand am very aware that our 'normal' is something to be thankful for and many don't have that at the moment.
My Dad is still waiting on a date for surgery, it is likely he'll hear today. He has another really quite worrying procedure on Thursday, I'm just praying he gets through it ok and it works. It's heart related.
I had a FB sale time-waster yesterday who didn't bother to show and read but ignored my message asking if they were still coming. Why people do it is beyond me. Someone else is collecting the item contact-free tonight instead. It's OH's, so the £15 will go to him.
I only have a couple of items left on ebay now, neither of much value but it would be nice if they sell. Not sure if they will though, there's no interest so far. I am still slowly de-cluttering bits and pieces; a couple more items were put in the charity pile yesterday.
Work calls, must go.

The child benefit & child tax credit is now in my account so it doesn't look quite so empty. Tomorrow is pay day so this morning I have updated budgets for the next month on YNAB to work out how much I can pay off the credit card and how much I can save. Thanks to not paying council tax this month, I am able to pay off £471.05 bringing the credit card balance down to exactly £700. I'll be adding an extra £25 to the SO for the savings this month so I reach the £6K savings mark and will transfer £100 and £50 to the car and gift pots respectively. I should be able to pay the credit card off within the next 2 months or so. I'm glad I chose not to pay the estate agent fee with savings, it would have really lowered my morale to see the savings drop by so much again.
So it seems the stamp duty exemption is going to be extended until the end of June. I really hope this helps with my house sale and purchase, but with the delays on conveyancing atm I'm not sure it will be doable.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

It’s finally payday so I’ve transferred £50 to the EF savings and the £50 help to save standing order has left the bank. I’ve sent an extra £25 to the premium bonds to make the savings total up to £6k once the other £50 PB standing order leaves the main account tomorrow.I’ve also paid £471.05 off the credit card to leave £700 on there so am pleased to have started paying off that estate agent fee already. At least no estate agency fee will be deducted from the proceeds of the house sale this way too. I’ve saved myself close to £2k by using this agent instead, I just hope it works out ok. They are coming tomorrow, so I’m really hoping it will be listed ASAP. A couple of houses have come to market in the area we need to move to that I would be really interested in and are priced well. I’ll probably miss out on these as they will likely be sold within days, but at least it’s a little bit promising that more properties are coming onto the market now than last year.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

A BIN I listed two days ago has sold for around £15 after profit and postage. I was going to put it in the charity shop pile, so am pleased it made a bit of money instead.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

Well done on adding to the savings and shrinking the cc. That’s really interesting what you wrote about PBS. Did I read that correctly that you can set up a standing order to purchase them? My oldest DD is keen on building up savings via PBS and should find that info useful, thank you.
Hope your dad’s procedure has gone smoothly.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Hi HSL2,
Yes, you can set up a standing order for premium bonds, anything from £25+ a month. I find it's the easiest way to make sure I do it every month and I also add extra to the account via online banking when I have the money spare, you just need to set it up as a payee.
Thank you for thinking of my Dad too. Thankfully it went ok and they seemed to be pleased with the latest results. We're just waiting on the date for the next op.xx
