I don't see why people are suggesting the OP gets the police involved.
The OP has a contract with Amazon to deliver the parcel to their house. Amazon haven't done this. It's a civil matter between the OP and Amazon (and the credit card company, if one was used).

Given that Amazon have admitted to not delivering to the OP's house then I don't see how it would be a difficult case for the OP to win.

Obviously if Amazon then suspect foul play then they might well get the police involved. But that's up to them.

Exactly! It's so simple. You pay Amazon to deliver goods. If they don't deliver, you're due a refund.

It's not down to the OP to find out why their delivery service failed. It's entirely Amazon's problem.

You need to report the theft to the police now, why wait until Saturday?
Who do you believe it has been stolen from?

I suspect the police will decline to accept a report from the OP as it's not his loss but Amazon's. The delivery was never made to the correct address. Couriers deliver elsewhere at their risk unless instructed by either sender or the addressee.

I'm got quite big problem with amazon, and maybe any of you will be able to help me.
I've never setup anything with amazon delivery like they can leave package with neighbours or safe place. But they do so and now neighbour denied to have my items.

Could the neighbour be telling the truth - could the parcel have been taken by the delivery driver who then filled in false info on the form?

I had a parcel (not from Amazon, though) that was supposed to have been delivered to me last week. I had a string of emails detailing the tracking right up to 'your parcel has been delivered to you and signed for by you'.

I contacted the company to say that it hadn't arrived here, they said they would investigate and later that day, the parcel did finally arrive. Someone had been telling fibs about it having been delivered and signed for. :(

    What do you mean here?

If you mean Amazon will simply contest the Chargeback, which the bank will then reverse, then I agree with you.. ;)

I did! I seem to have done some special typing there! Probably just used a hammer or something ;-)

Asides from the all the ins and outs of what happened to the delivery I'd be interested in what the OP expected the courier to do with the parcel? Keep trying to deliver it every day potentially forever and a day?

if you have no safe place instructions, amazon will attempt the next working day and if that fails it goes back to the warehouse and treated as a return.

This happened with my sisters Ebay parcel and they refunded her after the neighbours denied receiving it, and this was tracked with the neighbours signature, i don't know how often this goes on but a neighbour who signs for it should not get away with taking the goods.

Agreed, but it's up to the sender/seller to report the theft, not the recipient.

Does Amazon think the general public are their employees. Delivery is the problem of the purchaser and Amazon.

OP can't report it to police before 6.00pm weekdays until Saturday...when exactly are they going to be home to take delivery of a £600 item they ordered? Why order an expensive item you know you can't be at home to take delivery for it?
