I'm spoke with all of them from 82 to 94 on my street.
On 82 lives older gentleman who always give us any packages if courier leaves any. Also on note says that item was left at 82 and signed by one lady with live at 92 number. We checked all houses becouse we don't know where that lady live before. She confirmed that name with we have on note but denied to have us item, and she close the door just after.
    Price was over £600
  • Amazon are very good at taking a customers word for non delivery except when a customer has a "history". I think there is more to this story than meets the eye.

Did you specify in your account to leave it elsewhere? If not, I'd suggest a LBA as your delivery address is part of the contract and they have not fulfilled that. They have left the package elsewhere so they have breached the contract.

Court action against Amazon in this situation is very definitely NOT recommended.

It's nothing behind this story. I've got prime account for nearly year, doing shopping few times a week and have any problem with them.
Before that delivery I've got default settings on amazon so items can't be left in safe place or neighborhood etc. After that situation I'm updated my settings and put just one neighbour (my friend)

Probably wiser to use an Amazon locker if you plan to be out when delivery is due.

I expect Amazon are wary because of the high value of the parcel you say is now lost.

Remind amazon that the goods remain at their risk until they come into your possession and they cannot try to disclaim liability for that or pass liability to you.

As an aside, I wouldn't have it set up to allow them to deliver even to your friends. What if they say they delivered to him but didnt? You'll face an uphill battle to have anything done about it.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Odd, never have problems myself. Well onnce they left a non fileld in card but I had already had an email with the details of where left! Also once just left in conservatory when I was out and had accidently left open! (said handed to resident!).

Don't worry about court, the police have no resources to spare and would need proof first. All they might do is send someone round to ask her. And with the proof you logged it Amazon will cooperate a lot more.

They are definitely being funny because of the cost. Then again I would have sent such a costly item to one of the many lockers near me.

Probably is the old lady. old people can often be very funny. They stop giving a !!!! what people think and start being "rebels". She might be angry about always having to keep parcels. And yes she can say no but what would that do?

For a £600 item I'd not order it unless I was 100% sure I was going to be home to take delivery.
