Hi.
I'm got quite big problem with amazon, and maybe any of you will be able to help me.
I've never setup anything with amazon delivery like they can leave package with neighbours or safe place. But they do so and now neighbour denied to have my items.
After loots emails between me and amazon, after their investigation, they say "Based on the results of our investigation, we won’t be able to provide a replacement or refund for this order at this time.
If you think that someone has intercepted your item, this is a crime, and we advise you to contact your local police authorities, if necessary, in order to pursue this matter further."
I'm thinking it's not my responsibility now to go to police, open the case against my neighbour etc??
What I can do now?

It's not. And getting police involve will make things very tricky with you and the neighbough... especially if they have done no wrong.
But without a crime reference number you may have an uphill battle for a resolution.0 -
How many times had this neighbour taken parcels for you previously?0
-
That was first time now.0

Best start using Amazon lockers then.0

Do amazon obtain a signature?
Could you ask for a copy of that0 -
Usually no. A lot will depend on who delivered the item, if it was Amazon Logistics then it's usually just a man with a van setup and no signature is usually required.
True but they always ask for a name (at least around me they always do), so I guess if that name matches the neighbour then it would be more likely the neighbour has taken it.
That said there's nothing to stop the neighbour giving a false name, but at least then the OP could go back to Amazon and say the name is wrong.0 -
On the delivery note is wrong number of house to the neighbour who take it. But name is real and they live few houses of me. Amazon send me a message they can't send me evidence of signature due to the data protection reasons and only police can obtain that of them.
What I'm don't wanna do it is police, court case etc. If that's gonna be item worth few pounds then probably I leave it, but that's was quite expensive laptop
What im don't understand now, why amazon put everything on me to start case etc.0 -
I know once I had a text to say that a parcel had been delivered to me.
I phoned up because as I was concerned it hadn't been delivered and whilst I was the phone complaining, son looked up and admitted the parcel had been delivered earlier.
could this have been the case here?0 -

While not wishing to upset your neighbour, I think the only way forward with this is to contact the Police and get a crime number. The police will obviously ask the neighbour if the parcel was delivered, but if he denies it there will be little which can be done to recover the parcel. There will certainly never be any court case without any evidence, but you'll have a crime reference number to provide to Amazon.
If you explain that you need to do this to your neighbour in advance of any police involvement, you should prevent any ill-feeling.On the delivery note is wrong number of house to the neighbour who take it. But name is real and they live few houses of me.
As another said above, start using an Amazon locker if you are likely to have missed deliveries in future.gettingtheresometime wrote: »could this have been the case here?0
