Sshhh, the Rowan Atkinson thread got closed too, so that subject's off limits as well.

That's all absolutely fine by me.... and if folk want to accuse me of being an A__h___ that's fine too. If the high heid yins at MSE towers would amend the description of DT so as to stop misleading people, then you'd have a point!

However as the description actually says: - (my emphasis)

"A touch high brow, but not too much. Want to chat about the issues? Whatever they are this is the place (please respect the site's policies on racism and offensive posts though - be considerate and remember there is a broad church community)"

.... the policies on censorship of entire subjects via collective punishment is absurd. (IMO :))

If the definition of "offensive" is so tightly drawn that anyone can find anything offensive, there's scarcely a topic on any thread anywhere in the whole Forum that someone couldn't find "offensive". As for religion, I'm sure that everyone knows there is a broad church community - as the broad church community must realise that there is a broad "non-church" communuty.

I'm not describing what DT is meant to be about. Those running the Forum are, and what they describe isn't allowed to happen.

  • Think we are only allowed to sing come-by-ahh with each other now aren't we?

Agree - and the telling thing isn't that anyone has done anything wrong. It's a discussion forum so people are going to disagree. It's the amount of work it's taking the mods to investigate reports which have been falsely or maliciously made.

MSE Andrea said in the link provided above - the brexit thread has been locked, not because of offensive posts, but because of the number of reports which are based on a difference of opinion where no rule has been broken - but they have to be investigated anyway.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

I may not agree with you on the subject of B**xit, but on most things you are brimming with common sense.

Hang on melbury... I think my B**xit opinion IS common sense... ;)
Still, what will be will be. :)
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

I don't regard Brexit as the most serious issue in the country. There are many far more important issues that the government are simply ignoring while they bumble on in their incompetent way. It is perhaps typical of politicians that they get their priorities so disastrously wrong.

It is also the case that many people in the country have become obsessive about Brexit. There are posters on these forums who have typed dozens, even hundreds, of posts on the Brexit thread(s) and nothing on any other subject. Is there nothing else going on in their worlds?

I voted remain, but I am quite happy watching May and her cast of clowns provide entertainment on an almost daily basis. Just enjoy it, folks!:D

I voted leave, but I am quite happy watching Corbin and his cast of clowns provide entertainment on an almost daily basis.

P.s. I voted for Labour and always have done.

You had me there for a moment Barry! Now I see what you are doing.
A second and if necessary third referendum is also your wish.
    Nice one!!!128584;
  • And I was going to post a thread about letter boxes, Darth Vader, and how free speech is dead. I'll reconsider then.
