Right - I signed up to the EE one.
I called Sky and asked what they could do on my £15.40 line rental + free weekend calls + £5 BB and they said they could do the BB for free.
Phoned the Orange number (0800 953 5771) to get some info and the bloke said they could put through the Quidco transaction on the phone.
I've agreed to pay the 12 months line rental up-front, and the rest of the package is £2.50/month.
They will action it in a week or so (don't remember the exact number of days quoted).
There's also a £6 courier charge added for delivery of the BB modem/router.
On the Sky side, I lose £18 early cancellation for the BB (I recently had a new router which had a 12 months lock-in) and I pay the next month's bill.
But, taking into account the cashback, I'm pretty much getting what I had for less than 1/3 what I have been paying.0 -
Heads up for anyone who signed up to EE broadband & landline phone via MSE offer with £120 Amazon voucher (MSE said offer available until 22nd June) The offer was stated as £2.50p.m. Broadband + £15.75 EE monthly line rental for 12 months on a 12 month contract.
I have just changed from PlusNet to EE, broadband has changed over but waiting until 21st July for telephone line changeover.
I just checked my first EE bill on line which stated the FULL price of £25.70pm (inc line rental & weekend calls). Sent email to EE, they confirmed £25.70 price was correct. Rang their customer services & after a 20 minute conversation it was agreed that my contract would be changed to reflect the original discounted offer.
I was assured that this would not affect the Amazon voucher offer.
I would suggest anyone changing Broadband/Landline suppliers double checks their online account & emails, takes screen grabs of all web based application & order pages and records the phone calls with call centres (for training & quality purposes only of course!) just for good measure !! :undecided0 -
Hi,
Just posted a new thread, didn't realise there was a better place to have put the information.
Long and short is, if you have an EE/Orange/T-mobile phone contract then broadband/evening and weekend calls AND line rental could be £2.17 pcm equivalent.
...via Quidco, get £130 cashback (expires in 3 days). Chose the option you want that is congruous with the cashback. I chose upfront discounted line rental. This brought my costs to £132 upfront and £2 pcm for 12 months. £130 cashback, which has successfully tracked, means a great deal for me!
An even better deal for EE is currently available via TopCashBack, but it expires in 4 days: £136.50 cashback, 12 month contract and not dependent upon mobile phone contract. I'm considering switching but need to work out (very) early termination fees to see if its worth it!0 -

I have just signed up for the offer from last weeks email offering £50 cashback on plusnet subscriptions of Broadband and Phone.
When I clicked through the moneysaving link it did say that I would get £50 cashback but can not see in what form it comes to me?
Is this a cheque? Is it credit applied to the account? Does anyone have any idea?0 -
Hi, I'm on the hunt for advice so hope you can help please.
I'm currently with Plusnet but planning to cancel (once I get through on the phone line). I'm going to say it's for the price increase, but I am also moving in the next month. My deal with Plusnet is for phone and broadband, but I've only ever used the broadband (I don't watch TV, so no looking for this in a bundle).
I have a new job, which involves 4 placements in the first two years, so I am likely to be moving every six months. So my question is, does anyone know of any 6 month or rolling broadband contracts?
Any replies much appreciated.0 -
Just wanted to share my experience with POP Telecom after seeing it recommended on this article.
I moved to my new (rented) property on 11 July and phoned POP the same day to start the order process. I paid the £132 for line rental upfront as advised by moneysavingexpert. I was advised it would take up to 2 weeks to "take over" the phone line, and up to 2 more to start the broadband. I thought this a little long, but expected it to be less ("up to" 2 weeks...).
All went smoothly with the line rental and they sent me the free modem/router (a TP-LINK TD-W8951ND).
A few alarm bells rang when I noticed the T&Cs were clearly poorly proof-read. Most troubling they state to check the Fair Usage Policy and the Cancellation Policy online, but the URLs don't work. I alerted customer service and was thanked, but (at time of writing this) they still aren't fixed. This makes me wonder if perhaps I have good grounds to cancel the contract at any time because the complete terms weren't available when the agreement was made?
Another alarm bell rang when I noticed the paperwork had somebody else's bank details on it for the direct debit! Not the name, just the bank, sort code, and account number. When I asked about it they apologised for the "typographical error"!
Anyway, tomorrow is the final day of the second two-week period and I've had no suggestion it's going to be done on time, so I got on the "live chat" just now, only to be told it's going to go live on 20 August due to "problems with the exchange"!!!
6 weeks seems unusually long for a phone line and broadband! The customer service person said on chat that she would try and get me a refund for this month, which would be welcome.
To their credit, the customer service is good when you get them, but there seems to be a real lack of administrative quality. Whether the actual delays are their fault or due to external forces I don't know, but it's hard to give POP the benefit of the doubt...
I half expected this when I picked a "low cost" provider. Hopefully the actual internet service is good, otherwise I think I should be able to use the above as grounds to get out early scot-free. What do we think of my chances?0 -
Just posted this on the TV Money Saving board for anybody who may be interested in potentially getting BT Broadband, Phone and Sport free for 12 months!
