Several other suppliers do NOT do these credit checks so I will wait for them to do a good offer on MSE.

Tell us which companies you feel do not undertake a credit check in order that we can disabuse you.

Sounds pretty good - we as existing customers since 2007 are getting Basic TV (and one multiroom on reduced price) - plus now (as of July) phone line and normal broadband (usually 14 meg) for £44

    - so £42 for Fibre + phone line + TV sounds pretty good to me.

P.S. - Have you tried going through Topcashback or Quidco? I went through Topcashback (as an existing Sky customer...) and just got £65 cashback

    - for new customers the cashback rate is considerably higher.

You might want to compare what price you pay from Cashback sites versus Sky directly - but remember Cashback is never guaranteed (mine initially didn't track - and it took 3 months and a gentle bit of nagging once or twice to get the £65).

When I phoned Sky Retentions, and asked them if they could match the Cashback price, they couldn't - so I went via TCB, which was a risk - but ultimately paid off.

There you go - the £42 a month you quoted - plus £125 cashback to boot - you can't go wrong -

EDIT - ENDS TOMORROW - GET CRACKING!!
  • Thanks makara, defiantly look into that

Looking to move from BT Fibre to Plusnet Broadband, but am being told I'm unable to keep the same phone number?

Is this the case, has anyone experienced this.
    Thanks
How do I keep my number when I switch phone or broadband packages? (see BroadbandChoices.com)

When you've found a deal you like, all you have to do is start the sign-up process, then…
    • If you're switching between BT, Plusnet, TalkTalk, Sky, EE, or Vodafone - When you fill in your details, you'll be given the opportunity to keep your phone number. That's all you need to do - your new provider will take care of cancelling your old contract, transferring your number, and the rest of the admin.

Despite OFCOM rules that say your number is yours and it can be ported,

    https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/information-for-industry/numbering/number-portability-info

several companies seem to say they have some tech issue allowing you to take your number

Sky did it to me but reality is that I no longer use land lines, mobile, whatsapp, facetime, and Virtual phone (which gives me same number anywhere I plug it into internet) are cause but also the horrendous pricing for calls on landlands and what was and was not included.

Of course the rip off broadband providers still charge us line rental and increase the cost of it.

I was looking to get a BB contract as a new customer. Am I correct in thinking that now Talk Talk are no longer offering a new line installation in the contract price?

Check here for current deals, if you check each deal they say what they charge, Sky charge £20 Plusnet £60 so there are clearly some ripping people off, Post Office deal is £30

usually better ones in New Year
