In the video you will see at the end the bill has
    government support

I invite you therefore to help us find this out

Yes we are very serious about the destruction of scammers

Someone contacts Sir Greg Knight, says they are very interested in the bill and that they understand that the bill is scheduled for discussion at committee. They would like to give written evidence (pretty sure you can do that) - does he know when it is likely to be heard and what usefully that person/this forum can do to support him.

    Contact details

    https://www.parliament.uk/biographies/commons/sir-greg-knight/1200

You could also write to James Brokenshire to get him to confirm the Government's position remains unchanged from Javid's comments made in January this year.

As I say, not my issue. A bit of co-ordination here (not sure what MSE's views are on forum giving evidence but you can still do so as individuals) and you may be able to help push this forward.

    ETA.

I am conscious of what was said in debate. These things sound great but so do many words on private members bills. The stats set out the position - it takes quite a bit to get a private member's bill into law, whatever has been said in the chamber. Greg Knight will, I am sure, have a good sense of what chance this bill has. I see it says 2017-2019. Could mean that it could get lost in the whole Brexit furore..

Need to avoid Sir Christopher Chope or other clueless megalomaniac (or someone with Capita shares...I seem to recall that at least one Judge - Neuberger? - at the Supreme court did) uttering the word ''object''...

Or is it past that hurdle?

I've forgotten most of what I knew (old age setting in) but I think it's past the Chope stage - or it's not relevant right now. Seems like the committee is the next step

I think there is enough evidence on this forum for Sir Greg
which has been pointed out to him already

Sorry but the DCLG lost the plot on this a few years
ago and as these people appear to come out of the
same mould, I doubt James Brokenshire is any different

There is only so much timewasting one can do

But everyone here should write to Sir Greg

That's up to you. You asked for help/suggestions.

Personally, I'd contact Greg Knight to find out about the committee stage and giving written evidence to it. A chance for people on here, who feel very strongly about the subject, to make their voice heard at an important part of the bill's progress. Greg Knight may have a view about other ways of keeping this topic current. You'd think he might be interested in public support/evidence.

I can't comment on how he will react but, for the sake of an email, it's worth a go.

That advice has been given many times on here including
your link above for contact info.

Of course how many actually do it, is another thing

Maybe a new thread is required which can be updated
pointing people to Sir Greg with their evidence

Some PPC fighters (not me) are already all over this and were from the start, and their opinions will be included in the committee stage. There are high hopes that this one will make it into law.

    Cool.

Perhaps, when they know when the committee is going to be sitting that information could be posted on here? Some posters might wish to make their own contribution.

I think it is much better than that CSN. Nearly every one of my posts is thanked, often two or three times, and several posters tell me that they will write to their M.P.

I am not prone to exaggeration and think that my figures will stand up to scrutiny.
    You Not prone to exaggeration?

The figures shown under your portrait in every one of your posts would look to disagree with this proud boast!!
