Already been done and if I remember got to 10,000 signatures
    but nothing happened.

Sorry I do not have the faith you have for MP's

We just hope that Sir Greg Knight gets this right

I didn't say I had faith in MPs. I said I know how they work and how busy they are.

10,000 isn't big numbers so, as you say, you are relying on Greg Knight getting this right. He needs Government backing or he has no chance. See Javid supported it at the time but, now he has moved on, you've got to hope his replacement is of the same mind.

Be interesting to see how it turns out.,

Well. He has a Private Member's bill going through so that needs to go through the process.

I'd say might be worth engaging with James Brokenshire (Javid's replacement) and, possibly, Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth. If Knight has government backing (as he appeared to in January) then he has more chance of success. So, seeing how they feel now would be interesting.

Think I read somewhere that it as going to committee. Might be worth finding out if that is so and sending supporting evidence to them, when they consider it They do ask for public opinion on issues they are discussing. I can't remember the actual rules any more, I am afraid!

    I did

Well, the DCLG proved themselves useless.
I know nothing about Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth or even
    where he might fit in.

We assume this bill will become law, and we can only
assume that Greg Knight will do right for the people

    Time will tell

    I agree with Beamer.

1979-2010 11% of Private Members bills made their way into law. I doubt that has changed significantly. They need government backing and committee support.

I am not that fussed about the issue, personally. But, you guys are serious so I'd certainly be trying to find out when it goes to committee and if they will take evidence. Greg Knight will, likely, have a good idea.

Need to avoid Sir Christopher Chope or other clueless megalomaniac (or someone with Capita shares...I seem to recall that at least one Judge - Neuberger? - at the Supreme court did) uttering the word ''object''...

Or is it past that hurdle?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    government support

    ..... I feel left out ....;)

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.
