This person thinks there are more pressing things to think about at this moment in time than anything relating to Brexit politics and politicians, that's what this person thinks!
There could be a few reasons for the way that decision making has been done for the coronavirus crisis:
    - lack of competence or people that do not yet sufficient experience of the job
    - lack of data or confusing information from scientific experts
    - intention to prioritise national industry (or some parts of it) vs national health

Now I cannot explain why after so much noise etc orders for ventilators were put with some british manufacturers like Dyson and JCB over other british and non british ones liike Gtec and Airbus, instead of with companies that have established products even if non in the UK.

We are being told that billions are being put forward to build an industry, be it ventilators or diagnostics. This is the Brexit talk. Should decisions not have been made in the best interest of the people that are dying?

On the other topic, I wonder which person this person refers to? But let me not go down to same level - I mean MrsLurcherWalker

There's quite a bit of hat about masks, scarves etc. This site is very one sided but towards the bottom of the page instructions for how to make and care for a Tshirt mask. When next I have to go into public space, I think I may wear one.
I see what you mean about the one-sidedness, but thanks for the link.  I've seen instructions on how to cut out and sew one, but can't remember where now.  I'll see if I can hunt it out.  This one looks quick, simple and would be easy for a non-crafty person.
I had a couple of 'builder's' masks I bought for sanding.  Gave 1 to DD and wore 1 myself (with a folded tissue in it) when I had to give her a lift to the a medical appointment.  I decided to give washing it a try, so I stuck it into the machine on a very hot wash.  I was a bit dubious and fully expected it to have disintegrated, but it was fine.  I did go out without it when I went for a late night shop, but think I'll start wearing it again.
I read somewhere that builders masks are not filtering items as small as the virus. They can catch dropplets but they may not be as effective as the scarf.
I did buy a couple of surgical masks over a month ago but these days with the lack of PPE for health professionals like in NY I would not even try. They need it  much more than I do.

Mea Culpa, I really do think that the covid 19 is a big enough problem in life without adding in Brexit and politics.  I'm isolating and doing what I can but it's such a BIG and for us probably final thing to get wrong there isn't room in life to worry about anything else just now.
I see we agree, however to be safe and given some signs some of it is being driven polically, I'd propose a compromise: the Dyson stuff, whatever it turns out to be  should be trialled on Mr Johnson and co first. That still leaves waste of taxpayer money to be shared amongst us but safety would not be so easily compromised.

We are not lambs to the slaughter and as you say have enough to worry about. We should expect public health to be the absolute priority.
