Institutions really should know by now, that if they launch a good deal, word will spread like wildfire and become unsustainable pretty quickly ie customers doing just the minimum to comply.

Do you think thats what happened then?

I'm surprised the £50 bonus lasted as long as it did too be honest.

The new one I can't see there being much demand - if you have 10k to invest, a 20 quid bonus is neither here or there.

I'm sure it was the plan all along to slash the bonus once they reached a critical mass. The fact it was available for so long suggests they pitched it about right.

The bonus was prominently featured in this week's MSE email, so even a tiny fraction of the 12m recipients deciding to act on that would make a substantial difference to volumes, which probably also explains the technical issues reported on here since then....

Damn, I opened up two of these on behalf of family members yesterday but haven't funded them yet.

    Was planning to fund tomorrow.
  • Gaaaa, how annoying. I was going to sign up whilst at work but I didn't know my National Insurance number. Missed it now!

yep, they were double-bluffing Martin's advice to open one, but not fund it until after the interest rates statement...... :)
  • This is what the e-mail said I received yesterday:

If you applied for a first savings product from the Raisin UK savings marketplace before 5 pm today, don't worry, you can still claim your £50 launch bonus. All you need to do is fund your fixed term deposit as described in the product summary and send your claim within 30 calendar days of funding your savings product.

Did you contact them to specifically ask this? I also joined yesterday at midday and not yet funded it. My welcome e-mail made no mention of the £50.

The "Welcome email" never did make mention of the £50 bonus offer.
