EXPIRED: Gatehouse Bank/Raisin UK offering 2% AER on 12 month fixed term accounts plus £50 bonus

The £50 bonus request has to be, I think, by email, exactly as they instruct on the site. They were (initially at least and possibly still) responding to that email only with their auto-reply. And, despite that auto-reply saying they respond personally within 48 hours, they don't, not for the £50 bonus emails.
That apparent 'failure' on their part led to a whole, mad, thread about them being scammers, simply on the basis they hadn't followed up an auto-email. They clearly aren't scammers (people have been getting their bonus), and so one has to assume (in the absence of any response on the matter from Raisin) that they regard the auto-response as sufficient for the purpose in the case of £50 bonus request.
In other words, if you have an auto-response that may be all you get. But that auto-response is, by it's very existence, proof they received your claim. Then you wait, up to 60 days, for the £50.
My wife is on day 48, 60 days up Monday 13th August....
She had a slight issue and like others sent a secure message 3 days ago , no response to date.0 -
I've just seen this in the MSE email. here are the interest rate equivalents for amounts other than £1000 if that's useful to anyone.
principal equiv interest rate AER
1000 6.95%
2000 4.45%
3000 3.62%
4000 3.20%
5000 2.95%
etc
Thanks but.... I can't see any advantage in investing more then £1000 via Raisin. The £1k, in one of the 2% accounts they work with, will give you an effective 7% with the £50 bonus. That's clear.
But Raisin are just a middle man for bank accounts you can open and run direct.
So, yes, use them for the first £1k but if you want to put more in the same types of account with the same bank just go direct to that bank. You are then in direct control of the money and you know the details like the account number. The Raisin deal doesn't give you that transparency - it merely gives you an extra £50. And for that you only need invest £1k with them. No incentive or need to do more.0 -

I can't find the old terms. I opened an account yesterday but didn't fund until today (just over £1,000). Will I still get the £50?0 -

If they do not pay me the £50 do I have any recourse or chance of getting my £1000 back ? I only received confirmation of my deposit today and only sent the email request for bonus today although I made the bank transfer 2 days ago.0

I would say yes as long as you funded it before 5pm, as the new information says...We're offering a bonus to anyone who registers at raisin.co.uk and funds a new savings product over £10,000 from the 2nd of August 2018 at 5 pm.0 -
Institutions really should know by now, that if they launch a good deal, word will spread like wildfire and become unsustainable pretty quickly ie customers doing just the minimum to comply. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
