Well, today is a down day for me. Though I'll make sure it won't be a wobble day! I'm just feeling low, no worthwhile jobs around that I can apply for yet, sat at a desk all day bored - I definitely prefer to be busy - which ends up with me having no motivation to do anything when I get home, so I end up laid out on the sofa watching rubbish tv. Just a horror merry go round at the moment. The last 20 odd years I have planned exciting weekends for my son, been a taxi driver at all hours for his hobbies and fun times, ran down the beach because a bad storm was on its way - and now I just feel I have nothing to keep going for. Nothing to look forward to apart from struggling to pay off the debt that I was stupid enough to get into.

I'm immensely proud of my boy and look forward to continuing to watch him make his way in the World but I'm scared of being left behind alone and bored.

Where did I put my mojo??? I lost it a long long time ago and really would like to find it!

Aw, Dimps, I hate those kind of days but it'll pass. Don't think you're alone in feeling like this. We all do at sometime or another. xx

  • Hope you're feeling better, Dimps! It'll be a big adjustment for you I'm sure - I don't even want to think about when my DS will be that age and stop being around all the time :( so I really feel for you!

Have you considered getting a lodger? That way, you'd have some company, and extra income. Might not be feasible for you, but just a thought I had. :)

    Hugs to you!

Ah bless you Moguline. My son still lives with me but out and about a lot. He runs his own business so does tend to get stressed pretty quickly too - I'm the sounding board and the one he loses his temper with lol. I totally understand why, but of course it affects me too. I suppose I'm getting myself worked up about what will happen in the future when he does leave. I need to get used to my new normal - but right now? I don't like it.

As Moguline says it's a big adjustment but he's there at the moment and maybe now is the time to start thinking about building a life for yourself. Not easy. Takes a lot of courage but you can do it (and I fully understand about the lack of confidence). You said you are interested in photography. Is there a club you can join locally. So much easier to meet new people when you have a common interest.. xx

I'm so bad at the thought of joining a club - the idea of walking into a room of people I don't know just makes me feel  !! I am doing a couple of courses and a change of job should help.

    Thanks Toni'sfriend

I know I can do this - I brought up my little boy and helped him become the man he is today and that makes me very proud and happy.

    My goals:-

Find mojo, dust it down and start using it again
    Learn new skills
    Get new job
    Pay off debt
    Get new man
    Travel the world

That's my girl!. I always wanted to travel but never really had the opportunity until I retired. Haven't quite managed my dream of travelling on the Orient Express but in the past few years we have explored Europe by train. I organised all the hotels, train journeys, etc myself. At one time I wouldn't have believed I could have done this. Going to Holland, Germany, Austria and Hungary next January and I'm already planning Northern Italy for the following year. Believe me if I can do it so can you. Yes, I had lots of debts as well. Just try to stay focused on your goals. xx
