ooh ooh and I've signed up to four survey sites - I'm getting the hang of this. Made about £7 so far. Looking forward to cashing those in. I know they are probably marathons rather than races but every little helps!DIMPS

I've been working hard on these surveys and probably got about £11 now over the various ones. A couple of are not worthwhile so have deleted those. I'm going shopping tonight with the intention of buying exactly what is on my list and nothing else - if I see anything cheaper that I fit into my menu next week as a replacement then that will happen. Otherwise I'm going to be strong.
Payday on Monday - so I'll be spending that even noting everything down and budgeting down to the last penny.
Have a good weekend everyone

I also signed up for survey sites a while ago but found that I keep getting screened out. I don't think I fit the profile. I stopped doing it but started again today and I've made £5.00. Not a lot but better than nothing.
You're sounding very positive, Dimps. Hope the shopping goes well.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
I have read some of the survey sites screen out. So far its working but hey who knows :-)
I also noticed I got so excited that my post doesn't make sense in parts and I'm not going to edit it, cos I'm happy in my positivity. Onwards and upwards!DIMPS

I had a fab weekend with the family - belated fathers day out which cost my son and I about £60 each but it was budgeted for! Yesterday was a NSD and I hope I can have a few of those this week. Dinners are planned for the week and I am keeping away from the chocolate and sweets. So only essentials such as milk will be bought.
Payday today and monthly budget is sorted - not sure if I'll be able to pay extra off this month but I will be keeping a very close eye on any leftover funds from the weekly shop etc so fingers crossed I can pay off a bit at the end of the month. My plan is to deal with whatever the month throws my way and anything left over will be skimmed off into another account just before the next payday. Then some debt will be paid off with that. Once I get used to that and hopefully get a second job or the surveys start paying out I'll start an emergency fund and hopefully pay off more of the debt.
I'm going to start my 5 year plan - within which I aim to pay off my debt in 4 years and have a decent photography business in 5. Also, change my day job, get used to being an empty nester, keep my motivation up as often as possible and start saving to tick some things off my bucket list.
I was watching Cher on Graham Norton last night and she said her mother had a great philosophy - the title of this post. Hopefully it'll focus my mind to stop worrying about the little things.
Hope you all have a great week and here's to being debt free!!

So I'm doing it! Still working my way through the batch meals I made a couple of weeks ago. Really feeling the difference - healthy home cooked food that I just have to pop in the oven or microwave when I get home. Plus of course I don't drop into a shop on my way home and pick up a load of stuff I shouldn't be eating.
Currently keeping up with about four surveys - definitely £7 built up on one and about 500 points on another. The others are a bit slower but worth it all the same. I've only gone with cash ones, not interested in shop vouchers. I really want to use it to pay off the cards as and when.
Had a couple of wobbles this week just feeling down with my job and my son is struggling with what he wants out of life. I have to be strong when these wobbles happen - these are the times I'll just go online with card in hand and spend spend spend to make myself feel better. But in the long run I doesn't!! I don't use the stuff I buy and end up selling it on at a fraction of the price anyway.
I'm pretty busy this weekend with house jobs and helping my son out with his business so I'm planning NSDs for both.

On a bonus I needed a new mattress and budgeted £300 for the mattress/ delivery/ recycling. Managed £224. Once I found the one I wanted I did a search to see if anywhere else had any offers.
And I paid it in full - did not go on the credit card...woohoo :TDIMPS

That's so great that you managed to get the new mattress so cheaply and not on a cc! You are really getting a handle on this.

I need a new mattress too, but I think I'll wait until my DS is out of his bouncing on the mattress stage! :rotfl:0
