I echo what DNMS suggested about cheap activities for children.
My DD and DN are grown up now but we are lucky in that we have the beach minutes away, where we took picnics, the same with a big slate museum nearby with walks-the hours I spent there while they happily played.
Our library also used to run craft activities and the leisure centre a big inflatable session for free. You used to be quick having to sign up but the girls loved doing it.the memories created will never leave me, we had great fun.
Worked all day yesterday and feel like I've been hit by a bus especially as I had a procedure on Friday.
Plan to get moving today as if the joints are moving=less pain.
Need to pop to get cat litter and need to do a full disinfect.
Run Hoover over downstairs and mop kitchen floor.
Also need to do the bathroom aswell
If I get myself organised then I must send an email tonight.
Have been keeping up to date with my banking checks, everything good.
Have even been efficient and managed to put a couple of items on eBay.
Spends book is up to date but really need to keep an eye on spends that they don't run out of control while DD is home. She has bought some food to contribute to housekeeping, she is very hot on when we do main event to pack lunchboxes and I always take my trusty flask to stop me spending at the coffee machine.
Puss cat is still grounded. The weather has been fab here but being a white cat with a shaved patch on her back, who attracts the sun so easily.....im not taking the risk. Plus her meds are still making her drowsy
Nearly finished my first link to hope shoebox for Christmas. Have picked up some bits really cheap on amaz@n. Have to hunt around but have also come with free postage and by packing the shoebox.......it means I don't eat the sweets out of them.....again!!!!!!
Think that's about it from me. Aiming for a week of few spends....welll that's the plan, have plenty of food in and bills up to date
Have great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have no idea what you're talking about. :rotfl:Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
Afternoon all

Lovely sunny day it has turned out to be after an uncertain-looking start
Went car booting this morning, and though I found very little to sell on, I did find some useful items such as foil freezer containers (5 packs, unopened) and ordinary household candles, for pennies
Also found a dress for £1, and a nice pot to replace one that has disintegrated in the front garden for £5 (it is a REALLY nice, big, salt glazed one):)
Bought tomatoes and bacon from the market that shares the site with one of the sales
Did a small shop in Lidls on the way back. Still need a couple of things from Sainsburys, but nothing we can't do without today.
Picked some more strawberries, and some mangetout peas from the garden
Watered all the pots in front and back gardens (I have A LOT of pots ). Noticed that the tomatoes already have the first little tomatoes appearing so will need to start feeding this week
Rescued plants from disintegrated pot (one of the wooden half barrel type inherited from the previous owner of the house) that had completely rotted apart) and planted in the new one. Rescued 3 self set antirrhinum (sp?) plants from among the gravel and planted those in various gaps, and moved a rather folorn looking geranium that had survived the winter in the greenhouse.
Now cooking chicken for dinner for OH, my brother and myself, and apple and raspberry crumble for pudding
More things removed from the freezers, and only a loaf, which will be used during the week, put in :T 0 -
Hi Sunday Savers,
Today's efforts:
*NSD, as stayed home.
*Ham hock in slow cooker.
*Two baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Synchronised diaries.
*Watered veggies.
*Planted out sweetcorn.
*Sowed rocket.
*Re-potted Christmas tree.
*Decluttered 4 sacks of rubbish from shed.
*Rearranged my half of the shed so I can easily see what I've got. Found all sorts of things I'd forgotten about, which I will now put to good use.
*mr f continued with his big project of extending our garden by a couple of metres.
*Topped up worm composter with kitchen scraps & waste cardboard.
*Baked a wholemeal seedy loaf.
*Later, will stitch some mote of the birthday gift I'm working on.
*Started writing tomorrow's job list.
And that was all quite enough!

What a lovely day today! I have a brief trip to work tomorrow morning, and then the rest of the day at home with the family, so rather than go out and spend money we are all going to get busy in the garden! Have managed to pick up two free big wooden barrels from a customer who offered them to us, so I've got a few plants to be repotted and rearranged.
Annoyed with myself for a slightly spendy day yesterday - we went to a friends for a BBQ and ended up taking far too much with us - so our food budget has received a £30 trim, so we'll pay for it at the end of the month! Pleased myself with a £50 for the week food shop today though, all meals for the week planned.
Have an issue to sort out with Paypal credit though - their direct debit has switched to my new Nationwide account, but they have tried to take it from Barclays, which has obviously failed as the account is closed. Grrrr.
Hope everyone has had a great weekend x0
