    Sixth Anniversary
Hi all, and I hope those that need to feel better, quickly are!

A very spendy feeling week for me so far, as I have had a work event in London, so what with hotel, NCP parking (I'm self employed so it comes out of the business account but still MY money!) etc etc...it has wiped out the fact that the three course lunch and booze was all free! But, it was work, it was very worth going, so I'm thinking of it as money well spent! I'm back home now though, and have busied myself with sorting out some admin bits....

    - Have reconciled banking with YNAB...already transforming my approach to money - counting every penny against a budget is brilliant, and has already impacted my spending. Feeling smug that I am ahead of myself on grocery budget.
    - Had six eBay auctions end while I was away and have generated £70! Thats coming straight off one of the higher interest credit cards!
    - Filled up the car at BP...more for my Christmas nectar point stash which now stands at nearly £60 :)
    - Remainder of week will be spent eating store cupboard items - currently waiting for a jacket potato to cook
    - Prescription prepay certificate has arrived, and dd set up...£10 per month, this is going to save me so much, I'm paying at least £20 p/m at the moment on my prescriptions.

Most things on today's list done. Only spends were a new tyre & my prescription, pleased I didn't use the car trouble as an excuse to treat us to a meal out or a takeaway.

Also did the usual of turning off appliances and gadgets when not being used. We appear to have a problem with our downstairs toilet light, the switch is only willing to work for me & ds :rotfl: need to have words with the other 2.

Put my hair up to save me from washing it, obviously motivated by money saving and nothing to do with laziness :rotfl:

Well today has been my first nsd in ages. I'm starting to think about the long school holidays coming up and things I can entertain LO with that will be fun but not too expensive. I made dinner from some YS sausages I bought the other day.

Morning folks, sorry been awol. Life just a bit busy this week. Foxgloves hope you're back is on on the mend. Magnesium spray is very good if you can get hold of some and rest of course.

Dawn glad you haven't got to have another procedure. Hope you are improving too.

Hi to everyone else, my list for today:
Make a menu plan for new food plan I'm following, have had a quick scan and seem to have everything, just need to work out what I'm eating when
Get some washing done and out on the line
    Wfh :j:j
    Go for a run
    Get something out for tea
    Quick vacuum through
    Check banking and surveys
Research some more mortgages, seems the one we had picked won't work for us after all.
Renew house insurance, must do this as it expires today
Look at June list and update where I can
Investigate headboard that was delivered yesterday that I found in the sale. I was going to make one, but this worked out a similar price, without my time. Just needs to check it is ok.

    Have a good day.

Good Morning All, planning another NSD today although used the last tin of soup so will need to plan my trip to the SM later so I only get the essentials to make it till next week.

    Today;

    - Check banks and spreadsheets
    - Made lunch at home for work
    - Charge phone at work/drink the free tea/coffee

I also need to spend some time determining my debt free dates for CC, loan etc, this will depend how busy work is as I'll try to do it through lunch. I also want to update my signature so I'm that little bit more accountable.

    Have a great day everyone!

Keep going, you will get there!

    Morning Thursday Pence-Wranglers,
Thanks for all the good wishes re my back......yesterday it had improved loads, could hardly feel it, but today it's playing up again. I know it's only muscular & it does right itself, but it's annoying having to remember to be so careful with what are just really very everyday moves....things like bending to pick something up, open the oven door, empty the washing machine or stroke cat. Anyway, a non-speedy but useful day:
*Clean house using minimal products & washable cloths (am half way through this, just bathroom & vacuuming to do.....will leave carrying Dyson upstairs for mr f as it's heavy for me even without a bad back).
*Check meal plan I did earlier this week & write shopping list.
*Iron only what really needs it (already done & chucked 2 more items out of the pile when I realised was only likely to wear them for gardening next week).
*Peg out another unexpected laundry load for free line drying (done.....due to a burst hot water bottle which was soothing my back sending water everywhere & the colour coming out of something, grrrrr!)
    *Entered a prize draw.
*Did a Prolific survey..... total rising nicely again.
*Found another item for ebay next time I get around to a few listings.
*Prepare & sign all docs for solicitor's tomorrow - will be in town anyway, so may as well get as many useful jobs done as possible while I'm out & about.
*Continue to stitch gift for special birthday - no spend as this project had been sitting for years in my craft stash, bought back when I was Very Spendy.
*Update my DFW diary at some point today.
*Water greenhouse veggies & start hardening off the sweetcorn plants.
*A frugal meal on the menu tonight - Madhur Jaffrey's hard boiled egg masala....check ingredients to see if I could make double the sauce, then I can freeze it & just add hard-boiled eggs another time to make a quick cheap meal - & nutritious with brown basmati rice.
*Decide on a low-cost day out at the weekend. Think will use our EH & NT memberships & enjoy a bit of history, wildlife & walking. Will involve a picnic & flask from home. I don't mind a coffee & cake while we're out (as long as it's paid for from our Personal Spends) but paying for lunch & a further drink later in the day just feels too extravagant these days....that money has to come from somewhere & the most likely viament is from what would have been paid into our Loan Pay Down Fund.
*Various 'Use-it-ups' finished today, so have been refilling & replacing a few things from household & toiletries stash. Nothing requires a purchase, I'm pleased to say.
OK, that's my little sit-down to rest my back. Time to clean the bathroom - ooooh, the glamour of my life! Think will put a bit of Whitesnake on the kitchen CD player to make wielding the Dyson feel a whole lot more fun........though cavorting around not likely to assist back recovery in any way. Hmmmm. Maybe a re-think.
    Cheers all,
    F x
