    Congrats and all that, Piggers!

Operation Slinky definitely is working for you, too!

That photo has absolutely made my day, Pigpen! It looks fabulous, you both look fabulous, the girls look fabulous. Wonderful. Thank you for that and huge congratulations.

    Welcome back JillD!
    (((Hugs))) Frodders and ATB.

I don't know quite what to say, Jojo, other than I've never met a man yet that 'gets it' all the time, if you see what I mean. After a very serious ruction in our relationship about ten years ago I decided I was just going to get on with my life and OH could keep up with me or not, his choice. Since then things have been much, much better, partly because I no longer give him any of my time unless I actually want to. Nothing is done because I think I should any more, and that made the relationship much more balanced. I don't think any of them realise quite how much we do for them, ever.

He did something very brave for him later last night. He came and sat down beside me and said 'I don't know what to do'. So I got to tell him actually what I thought - which is largely, even if I'm not going to like what I hear, I'd rather be told it in good time to get over myself/register my displeasure/look at things we could do to solve it if possible/or so he isn't worrying about what I might say when it turns out I'd answer 'that's great!' or shrug 'Fair enough'.

To me, avoiding things in the hope they'll go away or that I might not be happy if they're brought to my attention is worse - especially as there are equal chances that I'll be happy/not bothered in the slightest/a bit miffed but able to adjust after the initial humph. I don't want to be asked for permission but I want to know in advance, whether I like it or not - and not telling me things, particularly if I've asked about them before, is a form of lying in my eyes.

In any case, had a great day in the studio. Partly, I think, because we've got a complete separation between Home and Music; we're not 'a couple' there - we're mates in a band with another mate playing drums. Which works weirdly well - we end up looning around, falling about in hysterics (as I did at one face he pulled when singing near the top of his vocal range today - my description was Albert Steptoe with constipation), having proper stand up rows (we can have those in a studio - and he gets just as stroppy as I do there) about which chord goes where/whether the riff is better played with a half beat hang before or after x note, taking the absolute rise out of each other and the drummer (equal opportunities there) and actually writing some pretty good stuff. There will certainly be some suitably silly photos of the day at some point.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Aww Pigpen you made me smile, congratulations, love the dress.

Well I guess you know you are tired when you sit down for a quick 5 minutes with a cuppa and actually wake yourself up 20 minutes later snoring. Seriously, I thought someone else was in the room until I realised it was me.

Up early, casserole made for tea, into work by 8.15am, worked till 1pm, collected DS2 and dropped at a friends, dashed to a meeting, came out of meeting and home for a little snooze. Ate tea, fed DS1, tidied bedroom, put a load of washing in, quickly hoovered, checked e-mails, did an hour on job no. 2 .

Might put washing over airer, its mostly cycling kit. DS2 to collect at some point. Another long day tomorrow.

HoneyBear just delurking to say that this really chimed a bell with me, thank you for writing it. I spent many years trying to do it all and getting more and more worn out and frustrated and unhappy. I finally went CBA and when there were moans about dust or dirt I used the 'he who spotted it, gets to deal with it' method :rotfl: I think the strength to do this came as the debts have gone down and the prospect of being alone in a right mire lessened. It had a really positive effect, and as you say - I now only do the things I want to so feel less resentful and far happier, and its also as you say somehow balanced the relationship out and DH is much more appreciative or asks really nicely rather than expecting.

On the flylady front, I'm not ashamed today that I had a long lunch with an old friend and the hoover has had a holiday :D:beer:

Welcome back JillD and MrsMP :wave:
    (((Hugs))) to froddy and atb.
    Well done Valli.
Saw the height of the Rivers Severn and Dee on Monday and kept my fingers crossed for you, Dizzy.

We've got DGS3+4 here, and are shattered after a day at the zoo! I'm taking them home - to their new house - tomorrow, assuming that I can find it! All flying is suspended until Friday.

We did manage to plant out some veg and bedding plants yesterday :D

Congrats Pigpen, you all look gorgeous. that has put a smile on my face for the day, thank you.

Flying is very minimal here at the moment as busy at work and home life hectic too but house not getting in a mess and equally important I haven't sought refuge in food when things have gone wrong so that is a huge step forward on the slinky front. Historically as soon as life started to go pear shaped I would eat everything and anything. Since January I have lost 7.8 kgs or 1 st 3 lbs. One of the big things that I think has helped is giving up alcohol during the week, since March I haven't drunk on 'normal' home nights, and now can enjoy a drink at an occasion and then happily stop. "Would you like a glass of wine? is now a question not a statement that means "I've put it on the table for you".

So onwards and upwards, time for another coffee and another load of washing in.

    Hugs to all xx

    Morning all.
Valli, I'm glad you lost the other days as I didn't fancy any of those jobs anyway.
My bedroom is my oasis (really) until I open the wardrobes at the moment so think I'm going to get rid of ancient and crusty things as my next job.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
