Big clear up of the kitchen diner yesterday. Lots of fling done and stuff moved upstairs and crucially put away. Nagged ankle biters to put away clean washing.

Will be attempting cloakroom clean and levels 1 and 2 of lounge today. Work beckons first.....

    Have a good day everyone

Bonjour, I'm still here, was on holiday and life also threw us a few too many curved balls so cut back to essentials only and avoided internet as it never helps in stressful situations.

Both DDs have exams this week so they have been sent away with plenty of home made food and hopefully won't let the stress get to them.

House isn't looking too bad as managed to keep on top of everything, at least the essentials.

Slinky challenge progressing, now at 6.8 kgs lost since start of year so that is just 1 stone although now realise that I definitely need to do some "toning up". Still not got any clothes that are too big and loads still don't fit or not nicely. But yes there are some things that look nice now so that is continuing to motivate me but not sure about exercises yet. I do walk further as incentive to park free and up steps is great.

Hope you've not suffered with the weather, we had terrible thunderstorm Sunday night and last night, cats not happy as playroom, where their food is, is wet, so food dispenser moved into kitchen, just hope they can find it now.

Best go and find an umbrella to take to work as sky is threatening here.

Hugs to all, don't forget to SMILE
    xx

The house was a bit *meh* so I thought I'd give it until 9.00 am, along with dog walking etc. Three hours later some of it looks a lot better, but I'm not done yet. Kitchen sink, hob and floor done, empty boxes and a few things up to the attic, wardrobe and a big clothes drawer given a quick sort and other stuff that I've forgotten already. The superking needs to be made up even if I haven't dusted and vacuummed - they can wait - and the shower room needs a drubbing, as do I.

I might push the vacuum around the ground floor too, because it's a ten minute job that makes the house look 1000 times better.

Kelpie's shedding is entirely responsible and it wasn't until I realised yesterday I'd baked one of his hairs into a loaf that I realised just how far his fur is spreading. If I ever had any ideas about doing B&B (long abandoned because I don't like getting up in the mornings) I don't see how I could with him about. :D

After that, sewing for a bit, attendance at a lunchtime history talk and then back to sewing. I'll do most of the actual cleaning tomorrow.
    Better is good enough.

Afternoon all. Hope I can stay back this time seems ages since I've been in here.
I've passed my exam and am now have a teaching assistant level three diploma. I've applied for my dream job, but will have to wait till next Monday to see if I'm lucky enough to get interviewed for it. I've been off list flying for so long it's going to be interesting getting back on track.
Weekend was busy ds1 played glastonbudget then went London to see a show and do music stuff with a friend, he's doing a local riverside festival next weekend so hoping the weather is good for that. I've got dentist this afternoon and hospital check up later in the week. Yesterday blitzed the garden and today I'm off list in the kitchen so I'll try and catch up so I get back on list tomorrow-will plan lounge on kitchen day.

Hugs and good wishes to all who need them.

It's nice to see you back again, Mrs MP. Well done on getting your diploma and good luck with the job application.

More ((hugs)) for Frodders and ATB. Xx

I did yet more weeding this morning before it started to drizzle, and was back in time to get the washing off the line. It's not dried, but certainly blown about. I was going to crack on with the LR, but it will have to wait a bit. DD and I are bonding over a few episodes of Friends!!

Hi, I!!!8217;d like to join in again after a few years!!!8217; absence - and boy does my house show it. It!!!8217;s a disaster zone and I!!!8217;m struggling to get on top of it never mind stay on top of it. Hoping being back on here will help - and nice to see some familiar !!!8220;faces!!!8221; :)
Not decided yet if I!!!8217;ll follow the lists or just wing it, but here!!!8217;s what I!!!8217;ve done so far today:

2 loads washing done and hung up
    3rd load washing done
Loaded DW and put it on
    Hoovered hall
    Hoovered front room
    Tidied gibble in hall
    Tidied paperwork pile in kitchen
Harassed DD1 to tidy her room
Got DD2 to tidy out her shoe box
Cleaned kitchen sink, table and worktops

That actually looks quite impressive written down :)

    Now I need to:
    Hang out washing
Do more washing (trying to see top of laundry basket, never mind the bottom!)
    Sort quick lunch
    Empty DW
Clean shower (while I!!!8217;m in it!)
Reset lights as they have tripped
    Hoover stairs
    Clear landing
Sort out dry laundry and put away
    Hoover landing
    Hoover bedroom

Off I go for lunch and more laundry, will be back with progress later!

    oops...

noticed a while back that my units in the dining room (with a glass display portion - well just this bit was dusty as they havent been cleaned out in a while) were looking dusty so I have emptied them, washed out the crystal glasses (I love my crystal) plus many other ornaments (In my humble opinion an occasional wash keeps them cleaner than mere dusting) then, once they were empty moved them, dusted the backs, vacuuumed under them, dusted skirtings, wiped the wires to the lights in each unit - and they were GRIM, removed mouse poo (because little tiny mice brought in by cats get under there).
We haven't had a mouse in for about two years...
This would last have been done in 2015 as I usually do it during the summer hols but 2016 was the year of minimal housework as not much free time available in which to do it and 2017 was the year of I CBA to do much.
I continued cleaning and the whole room has been spring cleaned - light shades down and washed, furniture moved, cleaned behind etc. Radiator brush used on both rads. All drinking glasses washed - plus more - by hand. I even gave the steam cleaner a run over the carpet to freshen it! The paperwork pile has been [STRIKE]stuffed[/STRIKE] neatly stacked in a shopping bag. Room looks beautiful!

Living room wasn't too bad and has much less complex cleaning needs anyway.

Then DD cut the 'lawn' while I strimmed the foot-high grass in the 'vegetable' patch. (Again a victim of two years of malaise/neglect/CBA)

  • Eight hour session in a studio went well. Even got a lift there and back.

Only downer is Himself confirmed he's leaving tomorrow evening almost immediately after the studio session to do the poxy Northumberland gig and not coming back until Monday night. He can't let them down, apparently.

    It's rather quiet in here.

    Deathly silent, actually.

I'm planning to get the house absolutely sparkling during his absence - after all, it's my only time off until the end of July, so I need to do something, especially as he's got weekday evening rehearsals and other gigs with his usual band almost every weekend, including some that'll take him across and out of the country for a few days at time, so won't be doing the housework himself and I'll be too tired, what with working my butt off to keep the roof over our heads in the first place to deal with it if it's not in good order to start with.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
