Ensuite and downstairs loo cleaned, bathroom given just a s&s as DD was about to take up residence and I really would rather my hard work lasted for more than 5 minutes. Bedroom dusted and bedding changed and washed. Just the floor to vacuum there before we are off for hair cuts. If I can muster enthusiasm. To drag the vacuum cleaner round, not for the haircut which is badly needed.
Oooh - nearly forgot - 2 baskets of toys sorted, some to go to local pre school and others to the school fete. They might as well make some money out of them if possible. Unfortunately these toys were in the back of the shed, so the flingage has had no effect on the house whatsoever.0 -

I don't know quite what to say, Jojo, other than I've never met a man yet that 'gets it' all the time, if you see what I mean. After a very serious ruction in our relationship about ten years ago I decided I was just going to get on with my life and OH could keep up with me or not, his choice. Since then things have been much, much better, partly because I no longer give him any of my time unless I actually want to. Nothing is done because I think I should any more, and that made the relationship much more balanced. I don't think any of them realise quite how much we do for them, ever.
You've put me to shame Valli. Well done on the dining room progress. I didn't get to sleep this morning until 5.00 am, so I'm running a tad behind schedule. The shower room, litter trays and washing up are done, and I know what I'm cooking for supper, although we've run out of butter and I completely forgot to get it this morning. I didn't forget the chocolate though, so that's okay.Better is good enough.0 -
I didn't intend to put anyone to shame; I am just so pleased that I have finally found the mojo to clean again, because the knowledge that it needed to be done wasn't helping my mood.
I have cleaned the LR today then taken DD to Meadowhell as she needed to return a Dorothy Perkins purchase to store and the one in our town closed tho' there's a concession in a HUGE supermarket but that couldn't take it.
Anyway I have
Spent money (inc a gift card I got for Xmas) on a White Stuff tunic. All 3 items I chose were nice...ended up buying the most expensive.
Bought us drinks in Godiva (HAVE YOU SEEN THE PRICE OF THEIR CAKES THEY MAKE PATISSERIE VALERIE LOOK CHEAP:eek:) with the last of my giftcard from last summer, as well as puting £2 towards a new mini colander from Lakeland as they had kindly sent me a £3 gift voucher I didn't want to waste :rotfl:. I also got the broken grout spray replaced:money:. On the way there I popped into the Arena to pick up my Deacon Blue tickets (because I was too tight to pay for them to be posted:rotfl:) and then blew the last of my giftcard on a bar of chocolate:cool: which cost an extra 17p cash.
Popped into Aldi on the way home for frozen fruit inc. blackberries as I was making duck breasts with blackberry sauce, mash and cabbage for tea. SW recipe from a magazine and two YS duck breasts decluttered from freezer. And it was lush.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I miss my cleaner.. I haven't seen her for over a month and I'm noticing it. The only reasonable thing I am doing is clean my taps in the bathroom and kitchen, oh and keep the cat tray clean. I have all good intentions at the beginning of the day it just disappears so quickly. I'm wondering if Dave's illness has finally sunk in with me.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
