Morning ladies! We survived the torrential rain...just...lounge window had water pouring in above it due to an overflowing - no, let's be honest, completely decayed and hanging section of guttering. DH and I had to cobble together an emergency Heath Robinson contraption to divert some of the water (up a ladder with lightning flashing all around) and were both soaked to the skin, through wax jackets. Funny and frightening at the same time.

    Today? Glorious sunshine

    Narc0 - keep posting - I like to hear your news x

Frodders - my grandma had vascular dementia and my dad was so upset when she didn't recognise him or kept asking the same things over and over. I looked at it slightly differently in that each day was new for her - she met lovely people who brought her chocolates and took her to have her hair done and I just chatted with her about the good old days (and learned a few family secrets too ), painted her nails and laughed with her. Your mum can't help what's happening to get - she's confused and frightened - just roll with it until SS can help. I know how exhausted and frustrated you are, but this will pass. Hang in there girl. Big hugs xxx

Jojo - what can I say?...

Juliejim - congrats on hubby getting a new job. Boo on the state of the house.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday ladies :j I plan to do naff all :rotfl:

Just woken up! Boom! Didn't even wake up when the kids got up and left for their BH day out to some water place - might be the one near Juliejim. Fine here, a rather pathetic shower yesterday evening was our lot.

    Juliejim
    - may I make a suggestion? Keep DH doing what he was and you can dovetail in with what he wasn't! Should restore some order.

    Froddy hugs.

    Morning ladies

Not seen a weather forecast for here today - but at the moment it's dull and feels 'heavy'.

Back to work tomorrow, :(, so I need to write myself a list and get organised .... coffee first though as I don't seem to be firing on all four cylinders yet (feeling woolly headed).

I have made my bed and I am dressed - it's a start!

Hugs, best wishes and much love to all - especially those of you having a particularly tough time at the moment xx

knee update - still tender but can walk down the stairs 'normally' rather than by only bending other knee IYSWIM.

Showered now and breakfast. Washing already out on line.

Valli, glad the knee is improving. When I had my knee op, the physio said to put the bad leg down first when walking down stairs, and the good leg first when walking up. It does help.

Hugs to Frodders, JoJo and JulieJim and anyone else who needs them.

Things are actually quite calm here at the moment despite wedding prep, new job etc. Long may it last.

Today I have taken the dogs on a lovely walk to a park in the nearest market town, dropped off a delivery, changed the bedding, watered the plants, sorted rubbish/recycling and part of a kitchen cupboard, and have dusted the dusty bits in the LR. Also fed me and the dogs, eventually, and have washed the dishes.

Next is sorting through the wedding supplies, then sweeping/hoovering through the house. Have decided to lay off the gardening today (was going to do the front) as I've hurt my elbow, most probably carrying the watering can!

Later we're off to DD's for dinner.

Hope everyone is having a great day now.

    Update on:

Slinkie: Did have two stone to lose, that's now 2 and a half stone.

Scrimpers: No choice due to new job but going really well. Even managing to save a bit.

Floors swept/hoovered. Missing wedding supplies found. Ironing done (only 4 shirts). Quick lunch scoffed. S&S bathrooms next, as per list, don't you know!

Hugs to all who need them; sounds like a fair few xx

Excelled myself and vacuumed right through, cleaned all the bathrooms and swept porch floor - why is this you may ask? Could it be because my parents are coming up later!! Yep - you got me! :rotfl:

Off out for a walk a bit later and going to take the kelly kettle so S and J can boil up some water out in the woods and make us a Cup a Soup or something equally exotic. Z is at her BFs - she slept there last night and he slept here the night before. We have said NO she can't sleep in his bed like she did last time she went there  - she's only 15!!

    Catch you later.

Juliejim best of luck to your DH with the new job. I agree with Valli re him continuing to do what he was and you covering what wasn't being done in the house. ;)

Froddy sending you strength and patience vibes. It must be so awful for both you and your Mum. I hope SS can help soon.

We shall be decluttering Dusty back to his Mum this afternoon; we'll miss the little guy, he's been a super guest. I'm deferring vacuuming til he's gone home, as he yells at noisy household appliances; but once he's been collected, I want Mr LW to move the sofa and the big green chair so that I can vacuum under them. I can just about move the sofa myself, with a struggle, but the chair is beyond my ability to shift.

I've had an email from Honey's Mum confirming what time she'll be arriving next Saturday, so that's all good.

Yesterday was exactly 16 years since I moved in with Mr LW - where the heck has the time gone?
