...and thank you for all the suggestions. Keep them coming please!!! I'm all in favour of making things from scratch as I like to know what is in my food because of health problems.0

I have to say that it is gorgeous, cost a fraction of what a shop bought one would have cost and im sure is better for me as I know exactly what has gone into it.
Well done, and bet it tasted all the better not only for being homemade, but for the fact it was ££ saving too! :dance:0 -
Well done! I'm hoping to start some baking, I always end up make what my husband calls "brake" - not quite cake and not quite bread <redface> Perhaps I can try the banana cake!0

Thanks for the hobnob recipe. Definately am going to have a go at making those. Just finished making meringues...I was a bit worried after hearing that many meringues go wrong but mine have turned out great. I used a recipe I found on an old thread on this forum. I do have one problem though...my hand mixer blew up midway making another banana cake...anyone seen any affordable yet decent quality ones?0

I'm unbelievably proud of myself, I've just done an entire weeks shopping online for under £25 incl delivery. We're saving for a house deposit so I've got to reduce our £400 spend on food (I know ) to around £200 so to get a 1/4 of a months shopping for 1/8 of my budget made me ' :j'
 To the DFWs & OS boards! Just got to keep it up now & stay away from takeaways at work!
Now I need some ideas, I work nights so the temptation for takeaways can be huge, especially when the rest of the team is having something, so I need some tasty, cheap, easy, quick ideas for food I can take in with me that I'm going to want to eat rather than getting takeout (which basically rules out soup & sandwiches). I'm a good cook, but a lazy one, so I need stuff that I can make in the 30mins between getting up and leaving the house at night. Anyone any ideas?0
