Yesterday I turned the red cabbage that was looking sad into a freezer full off braised cabbage enough to accompany 11 meals - thanks to all of you
As I was doing it I noticed the bag of rocket was looking limp too. I would normally have thrown this out but I turned it into pea and rocket soup which I have just had for my lunch. It was delicious!!!
Now if I only I know what to do with those satsumas....2014 = New Year, New Me0 -

I just put a little olive oil in a pan and sauted some frozen peas and spring onions then wilted the rocket. I then added some veg stock and cooked off for a while then blitzed and served it up with a poached egg in the middle. ala gordon ramsay.2014 = New Year, New Me0 -
The satsumas might still be nice juiced. I have a lemon squeezer I use for that. Nice topped up with lemonade or frozen too.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I have been reading the OS threads in amazement and awe at how many people are geniuses in the home...thought I would give it a wee go...
I used up the tomatoes that were "ripe" in my fridge, and made home made tomato soup...yummm...
With the totties and onions that were strained from the soup and the leftover soup I am going to make a sausage and tomato caserolle tomorrow..
My hubby is amazed at the changes in the kitchen, and puts it down to the tips and hints on this site...my home baking is becoming known to anyone who visits!!
Thanks everyone for the great ways to save money, make friends, get recipies and get support...you are all stars!!!
:T :jIf you obey all the rules...you miss all the fun!! Katherine Hepburn0
