  • I think the cake sounds pretty good at it has no added fat, just what is in the nuts...besides life without cake is dismal....the recommendation of small slices is probably the key

    Hi all :hello:

It has been a wee while since I have been on - was away to Blackpool last week (half term in Scotland - a week earlier than England) and can't believe how long it has taken me to read through all the posts and catch up.

Although I had every intention of being good while I was away it sort of went out the window. The wee guesthouse we were staying in for BB&EM had great food but unfortunately no healthy options for dinner - scampi, fish, steak pies, etc - you get the idea - chips with everything!!! I did try to take the healthier of the choices on offer and asked for them without the chips and with veg instead but felt really guilty at putting the woman out (I know I had paid for it and so should probably get what I like but I hate putting people to any extra bother). Stuck with the cereal/toast for breakfasts and didn't have any desserts etc so was better than I could have been.

Came back at the weekend with the intention of getting firmly back on the wagon but I just seem to have temptation put in my way at every turn and my willpower it out of the window. Pink day at work today and us girls always make some pink goodies for the Engineers. I decided to make coconut ice - bad mistake - chose the recipe made with condensed milk that doesn't taste too sugary - so had to taste it to make sure it was okay. Only I couldn't tell from just the one bit - so had to have another (and another).

I need the willpower back again - do you think I can buy some in Boots!!! If only.

Well done to all the losers and maintainers over the past couple of weeks and stick with it to anybody that put some on - you'll get there - like I hopefully will.
  • Welcome pixiedust

I'm a slimming world fan - plenty to eat, no calorie counting and very flexible. I've lost 23 pounds over 23 weeks and I'm not very active (for health reasons). I love it, but as petrichor says, you need to find the right plan for your lifestyle and YOU. I need a class to keep me focussed, and the lovely peeps on this forum have also been a tremendous source of support (and saucebiggrin.gif). Menu planning whatever plan you follow is really helpful in avoiding rubbish when you are tired, and can't be bothered and to keep you on track with what you have eaten vis a vis any given 'rules' of your plan.
ON SW green days you can eat as much pasta/rice as you like which might suit a student lifestyle and budget?
Sounds like you are up for the challenge of getting fit and healthy action-smiley-033.gif . A long term goal is great. Now you need to break that down into smaller targets so you regularly get a sense of achievement rather than being overwhelmed with quite how much you need to lose. That's why we have a 5lb monthly challenge -to get your self added to the list just post and say that is what you want and our lovely chart keepers will do the rest.
    Most importantly, keep postingbiggrin.gif

You will be fine Anic it happens to us all where we can't be bothered or have no willpower or give in or say' what the hell one won't hurt 'and it won't if it is just occasionally once treats or special occasions it is when it is every day all the time that the probs start....

Your willpower will come back when you remember you have lost 1 stone, you have done fantastically well, you know you can do it, you have been doing a great job and will continue to do so because you know you want to be healthier, leaner, and shout from the rooftops 'look at me I am fab, look how much I have lost and am going to loose':D ;)

You will be fine, you know it is all worth it in the end:D

    Thanks Victory.

That is what I love about this thread - everyone says the right thing to make people feel better.

You are right - I have done well so far and I don't want to put the weight back on that I have lost already and although my next mini targets are to get under 16 stone or under 100 kilos, I would love to have a "4" in my weight by the time I reach the big 4 0 in January - so that means I either need to be 15 stone 4 or 14 stone something - I don't know if I will do it - but I am going to have a damn good try. If I am not 14 something by my birthday - I will get there while I am 40.

Determination is back - Willpower will hopefully follow - I have added the pink goodies into my food diary for today (okay don't know exact weights so rounded up to 500) and will be back to normal tomorrow.

Atta girl anic. You see - the importance of posting here every day if need be :D . I'm not sure what plan you are following but it sound like you have about 10 weeks til the 'big one'. So that could easily be 10lbs off and hopefully more. Xmas will obviously bring it temptations - build in some treats but just don't allow it to be an extended leap off the wagon. Advance planning means you will be in control :T .
Great advice from victory - you have lost a stone so you can do it again.

Suggs -great to have you back Ifireworks.gif. Must mean grannynise is back too hurrah. (You missed the round of assumptions about your suspiciously timed mutual absence) You know you lost the extra weight from your rugby weekend very quickly so you will definitely do it again. Glad to hear you had an [STRIKE]erotic [/STRIKE]exotic time :D

  • back from the chef and brewer and had a very lovely lunch - lemon chicken and asparagus salad and then duck salad with blueberry and pomegranate dressing. I tried to leave the duck fat but it was just too yummy. Skipped dessert but had a choc cookie waiting for me when i go back. Either way, I think I've stayed good - thank you!

I have just read your signature and you have already lost 1st 5lbs. That is fantastic and shows you have huge will power. Keep it up, we all fall by the wayside occasionally. Me too, far too often but the fantasytic people on here help to keep me going.
