I guess the questions are, how would you feel if you weren't 8.5 stone on Christmas morning, and what would you have to do to get there? It is possible, but is it possible for you to be okay with NOT getting there? Cue Ajax...
Struggling with this bloody menu planning, don't have the energy for it and all the cooking it involves and the Sainsburys trip... :eek:KPC, fancy a trip to the West Country? :D

Ha ha, yet again Bails and BB post simultaneously! Thanks for making me laugh BB, just what I needed! You go girl tonight, get those sexy boots on and enjoy yourself! So pleased for you that you have battled the froglicking and won - I know it hasn't been an easy road for you recently and you've come out the other side. It gives me strength to know I will do too. Sorry to hear about the appointment, that's truly rubbish. What interim measures are they putting in place?...

Have you tried sains internet shopping: we do it fortnightly and spend over £70 so only costs £2.50 and although it take a bit of time to get used to the system, it's a godsend. Takes half (or more) of the stress out of it)

Sorry to hear about the appointment, that's truly rubbish. What interim measures are they putting in place? :rotfl: That's a cracker!

I've been thinking today of maybe trying some gentle swimming to see if I can help myself. Don't want to use the town pools: noisy as hell and don't want to be seen by the masses with not many clothes on. Have just discovered the grand hotel (the one that was blown up) lets the public use their little pool, and although it's pricy, might be worth a try - psyching myself up and may go for it tomorrow.

Here's a link about Christmas - it's from an US website so forgive the Americanisms but you can relate it to our Christmas

Well, I was wishful thinking BB  Swimming sounds like a plan, why the aversion to swimming with the masses? Too many 'warm patches' in the water? :rotfl::eek:

:rotfl: :rotfl: hadn't even thought of that one, though being on mega immune suppressant drugs do have to be careful!

Bails, see everyone agrees it's a great picture! :D There's no way you'd get me into a bikini, it's not so much the shape of my body I'm worried about but the whiteness of my skin! I don't think I can summon up the courage to put a pic of me on here (but I might be persuaded to do a PM one at some point).

Missy??? Have I got to give you a talking to then?? :rotfl:

  • Wow - lots to say so I'll get on with it.

Victory good for you for telling that guy off. How can we expect things to change if we don't start to complain, and it is our health after all, which I'm sure loads of people will on here will agree is the most precious thing.

bails I'll certainly hound you to do your menu plans if you want, but I'll give you a wee bit of advice first. Try making a 2 week rotating menu plan for mondays - fridays and make the interesting variations for the weekend when you have more time/help at home. You'll find it simplifies your shopping list and takes the pressure off choosing what to make differently every time you sit down to make your menu plans.

Love the pic by the way, but have no idea of Trinny and Whinny's body shapes so can't help you there.

grannynise - hope you're feeling better soon. Wrap yourself up warm this weekend - its the perfect reason to rest and have loads of duvet days.

missyg - wow 8 1/2 stone! good luck reaching your target for Christmas day. I think the last time I was that weight, I was probably 11.

Brighton belle - your attitude to maintaining since October is fantastic. As we can all see from our target members posts, maintaining is difficult. The key is to not panic over 1-2lbs gain but pull in the reins for a while until you reach your equilibrium again.

Have a great night out for your christmas do. And of course you have to wear heels. It's the one time of the year you can go mad with your glam. Why miss it. Oh, as for the swimming to help your back, when I suffered more from my back pain, my physio said that swimming was making it worse ( I had soft tissue damage to the lumbar spine) so take advice from your GP/Physiotherapist first).

Had a great day today, went to Belfast shopping. Bought loads of stuff for DS all in lovely bright colours ( I hate seeing babies/toddlers and young children dressed in greys browns and dark greens so refused to buy any of the clothes in shops here!) and a few gifts too. I even manged to buy myself a cardi (lovely though) in BHS and didn't guilt over spending the money on myself. I did see some lovely trousers in Evans too but refuse to spend £30 on a pair of trousers that hopefully won't be fitting me for very long. Had a very healthy roast turkey lunch and didn't eat ANY of the rubbish I usually eat when I'm on a shopping trip.

Off now to let OH game before he starts getting withdrawal symptoms.
